my suggestion would be
Boston Acoustics...you can find good prices on Crutchfield...i had a 10 in the trunk and for me it wasnt enough...a 12 is perfect...just have to tune it the way you want it and it'll be perfect for you

How much is the HKPP going for nowdays?
I'd lean towards just replacing the head unit with one that has iPod/iPhone integration built in, some are pretty cheap.
If you don't have any experience installing stuff certainly leave it to the pros. You don't want to tear your dash up or blow a bunch of
fuses, also if they damage it, they pay for it.
So take pictures before the install and after....

crutchfield. they know everything about that stuff, and they're really helpful. im sure they could walk u through whats wrong, and u could probably buy the correct wiring kits from them if u have the wrong one.

Looks like a good head unit. Pioneer is generally a good brand. They have a good reputation and I haven't heard any complaints.
About the installation...assuming you have a double din size stereo in your 04 X (thats what I have in mine), you will need a mounting sleeve to "downsize" the slot to single din to fit the
new head unit. I think they have those at Best Buy (however be careful ...
