S-tec exhaust manifold overview

Not sure what he charges for shipping, but I'm pretty sure if he can send them USPS priority from on base the shipping cost would be well under $100. That's just a guess on my part though, so don't go saying I told you he could do it. He used to be in the military, but is in no way connected with them anymore, so he can't just stroll on base and mail them. If he had to go through the japanese post office, then I could see...

Well today I went out for another true test drive and tried to "push" against that sorry top end of the gears and I figured something out. I thought I was lucky that fuel pressure had not been an issue (according to my gauge) using the stock hardbody fuel pump. However, today when I "pushed" (kept the gas pedal down without speeding up any) against the lack of power long enough, I saw the gauge drop. So one day soon, I get...

rb26 normal idle air flow???
Published (2009-11-24 13:59:00)
normal idle rpm on the rb26 is 900rpm unless you have big injectors like 800cc+. check for vacuum leaks, my vacuum during idle on my rb26 was 18inhg of vacuum. if you have no vacuum leaks and your fuel psi is 43.5 base psi then adjust the idle screw on your idle air control wich is located under the intake plenum in the middle of the plenum, and that should be able to get it close to normal. here is a procedure on adjusting idle/ignition...

remove the hose running from intake manifold to left cam cover. cap both the intake manifold and cam cover. leave the small hose between the to cam covers. remove the hose running from right cam cover to hard pipe. catch can goes between the hard pipe and cam cover. if you have an american style catch can with only one hose and filter. cap the hard pipe and connect to right cam cover only....

why shouldnt it be safe since it's only oil cooled? If anything it should lower your engine temps since you don't have to cool both a turbo and the engine.

Did you try reversing the fuel lines?

It fits, the vacuum port is just facing a different direction. Not a big deal, just get more vacuum line.

The difference between the 26 ( in most cases ) and the rest is the 26 is a pull style clutch and the earlier 20/25 and push style clutches. A 25 flywheel will bolt right on a 26 and you can use the 25 clutch. Then if using a 25 transmission you are then converted to a push style clutch. Hope this helps.. If not feel free to contact me anytime..

Why is this in the RB forum?? This would probably receive better answers if it was moved to the 300ZX forum.

More details on your setup? Also do you plan on driving it on the street? 3.5" or 4" straight pipe is gonna be INSANELY loud, also probably wont sound that amazing, at least put a straight through resonator somewhere in the piping, will clean up the raspyness and quiet it down a hair.

You shouldn't be able to build boost in neutral... I'd say that your timing is retarded or advanced really far in the wrong way. I'm leaning towards retarded though because you have no power. Your CAS should be pretty much centered in the slots. Also, I'm pretty sure that as you build boost your FP should raise 1:1 with boost. I.E. at 5 psi you should have 48 psi of FP. 7 psi of boost ...

This sounds freaking AWESOME. I don't know anybody who wouldn't want a 600rwhp capable turbo that was at full boost by 2000rpm LOL. Besides MAP input, I'd think TPS maps would help so the turbo would be helpful at part throttle, off boost driving. Not really an expert, but it makes sense in my head. I'll be on of your first customers for this if/when you get it up and working.

I have an rb20det and it has always had an annoying noise coming from the transmission/flywheel area. Even with a brand new stage 2 clutch/pressure plate and throw out bearing (that thing the FORK pushes on??). It is a whirrrrring noise as though something is spinning. I would say that is a guarantee that it is something spinning because when I push in the clutch it does away (sometimes only...

I have used iridiums (bcpr7eix-11) on many RB and SR motors and never had an issue with them.
