im pretty sure the effert you would have to use to make the fenders work would make it not worth it and i think it would probably be the same with the bed

Really cool, but you should turn the flap 180 degrees. The force of the wind will keep the flap open when you stop.

Swaping distributors....
Published (2009-12-08 08:42:00)
well, i got it running today.... with the z24 distributor. I just left the extra wire off. After turning the distributor some, killing a battery, getting a replacement, and fixing the terminals....it fired up. Runs OK, i need to set base timing and figure out why it falls on its face when i hit the throttle, even with no load. I think i have a fuel supply problem.... But yes, swapping the distributors works! good way to get rid of that...

Installed alternator...wha whoo ! Voltage constant 14.5 no matter the RPM. Not ready for drag races yet...still not enough power, but I won't get stranded with a dead battery now.

Quote, originally posted by PEZi720 » removing them will probably make it a little 'springy-er'.... you won't know about ride height until you try it... if you remove them and the other springs obtain more arch then yes it will be higher its basically a good thing to have those... less body roll etc... but its pretty heavy too... its gotta be a personal preference really hmm..well i dont want to be any higher thats...

1984 720: Just bought this little beauty. Last one I had was a 1975 620 (should've kept it!). I bought it from a kid who said his brother and dad overhauled the engine. Now, it starts hard, sputters like crazy, then will finally get an idle. Once warm will idle pretty good. Once on the road it has little power. Max speed with a slight downgrade = 55 mph. Ready to get started.... so, you clever ...

try plugging those holes/hoses you mentioned... make sure all the vac lines are connected or plugged... if it runs after that then problem solved but there is possibility of something more in the fuel system try that first... vac lines are huge in these trucks

they're a b**** to get off... get some leverage and pry... but BE CAREFUL at the same time... whatever you're prying with... you don't want it to hit anything inside the engine... and you want to make sure you don't bend the cover at all good luck

Today, Moved my original thread from NICO trucks to ODPL. I bought a bucket, car wash, couple sponges, and some turtle wash to clean her up a bit. I bought a new fuel filter and will be replacing that soon, along with vacuum lines.
