Turbo the SOHC question.

boosting the ka24e isnt the preferred choice by nissan owners but thats definately not to say that it cant be dont or that it hasent been done already. the ka24e is just as boost happy as most other nissan motors. however you will need to vastly improve its head flow to really get your moneys worth, ie bigger valves, porting, high lift cam, ect. your next cheapest route is a flip of a coin between buying a used sr20det and droping it in...

Turbo the SOHC question.

You should be able to take care of the average rice wagon with a dohc and the balls to slam the gears but if your dead set on boost go with sr. They are more likely to last and can take alot of punishment. boosting a sohc or dohc many seam cheeper but you likely to be jumping into a money pit with little satifaction. look up 'true pig build' in the tech forms. he's boosing a sohc and its been a while and still haveing problems....

odd ecu problem
Published (2009-11-24 09:44:00)
Do you have a FSM. Because in there, it tells you exactly what it means when your ECU light comes on and when it is and isn't suppose to come on. I left mine at my friends house or else I could tell you.

SR20DET Swap. Need Help.
Published (2009-11-23 22:39:00)
I recommend buying the swap dvds from www240sxtechdvds.org They have helped me out quite a bit. It shows about everything you need to know. I wouldn't say it's a cheap swap. I have quite a bit invested and I am still not finished buying parts. You should look into that before you get in to far over your head. If your new to working on cars or 240sx's for that matter. I bought mine a year ago and both motor and tranny have gone....

Do you plan on making a high compression motor down the road or boosting it? If not go with stock size.

how did you bypass your knock sensor? if it was a bad knock sensor have you reset your ecu sence? my car did all these things, it was a leaking injector. after a day or two of messing with it i found i had a cyl full of gas.

on our cars we have a negative pulse lock system meaning that a ground signal is sent to our locks to fire them. so you need to wire your door lock signal to ground pulse for open/closed. the wires you want to wire them to are in the drivers side kick panel area orange/black unlocks orange/blue locks. Trigger means trigger the alarm and it wants a ground or positive to trigger the alarm. i ...

Are your fans wired up as a push or a pull? I have a huge FMIC, CXracing aluminum rad, and one 14"fan no shroud. I can give my car hell and it wont overheat. there is no reason you should with the exception of your thermostat, or your fans being wired up as a push which would stop air from flowing through the radiator at high speeds. I hope this helps you.

The Ecu shouldn't have anything to do with it. I know the 96 Ka has a internal coil in the distributor but you must have that good or it wouldn't start at all. Fuel pressure, have the MAF all the way in?

when your number one cyl is at tdc durring the compression stroke. the lobes on the cams for the number one cyl should be pointing outwards from center. exhaust lobes pointing to the exhaust manifold and intake pointing to the intake manifold. set it to number one tdc compression stroke and tell us where your cams point. or take a picture.

pull the coil wire and hold it near a ground. have a friend crank the car and see if your getting a consistant spark, it should be like a beat, steady. if its not missing there then its probably you plug wires, plugs, cap, or rotor. if it is missing there then its probably your dizzy, if it is steady but really weak its either your coil or your ignitor.

have to do some searching, but what your asking is totally possible. i had a turbo EF with a 8 point weld in and retained the entire interior. youl have to do some trimming/fab on the interior, pending on how the cage is, but with just a bolt in, theres some out there where you will have to do very little. just search for pics
