Sounds like you have a loose wire or bad connection somewhere - could be at the ignition or from battery to starter solenoid. Make sure all your grounds and terminals are clean, take off wires from solenoid and clean the contacts there. You can also run a wire directly from the Positive Battery Terminal to the solenoid (be careful how you do that!!) and see if it starts - that would eliminate the solenoid and the starter as the problem.

timing chain noise and more
Published (2009-12-15 08:34:00)
I have the same situation. I have replaced tons on my car putting off that upper chain tensioner. There is a sticky that has the step by step instruction on how to change it. As I see it, since the chain is loose the timing is all over the place. Although my car runs fine (compare to how it was before I had tons of replacement parts), mpg is horrible, 12city, about 27hwy. I know it could do better. Im getting better hwy mpg, Im assuming,...

wiper linkage keeps popping off
Published (2009-12-16 22:14:00)
I have a 1997 Nissan 200SX SE and my wiper linkage from the motor keeps popping off. I keep putting in a new bushing and it works for a couple weeks and then it comes back off. Why does it keep doing that? I saw that there was some sort of recall on it, I believe.

Just change the bulb anyway, shouldn't be more than $2.00, that way you'll know for sure. Otherwise your fuel sending unit might be on the way out.

Has the light ever come on? Have you tried opening the dash and seeing where the wires lead to? It kinda looks like a security or alarm light to me but not sure either.

I drilled a hole in the top piece (socket) and ran a screw through it and tapped it into the knuckle underneath to form a pivot point. Been that way for almost 3 years I think.

I put a voltimeter between the b/w wire that feeds from the wiring web to the solenoid, and the positive terminal on the battery and had a friend crank it. Nothing showed up. sound like a familiar problem to anyone? where can i check for another problem? please help!

Check the ground strap that runs from the battery to the body sorta next to the battery tray. Lose good connection there and you can't flow enough juice to fire the relay and everything else all at the same time. For that matter, follow that negative cable all the way around, double-check all the grounds. The one on the starter isn't the only one in there.

I usually go to eBay and search around. you can get each headlight for around $25 i think. search around this site which isn't much more than it'd cost to buy it from someone and have them ship it...and they're brand new. that's what I'd do anyway.
