Could possibly be a failing video card. see if it does the same thing in other games or when the video card is stressed. good test may be running 3dmark06 from futuremark.
secondly after you do that, just let your computer sit without turning off anything and seeing if your problem happens again without anything being done. you can also try a different monitor on the PC to see if that resolves...

Right-click the folder, click Properties, click Security, and set yourself as the owner. Be aware that they do that so that certain programs can't infect you with traditional methods, so to speak

new optical drive, they're dirt cheap. To get your current disc out get a paper clip, straighten the thing out, then stick it in that little hole on the front.

I use Xilisoft iPhone Ringtone Maker, then WinSCP to SSH into iphone and copy the ringtones to /private/var/stash/Ringtones.SI9qrQ
