maris - That Game 7 one is a really good factoid. In 2001 Johnny Damon (then with Oakland) hit a line drive down the line and it rolled into a beer cup to be ruled a ground-rule double.

Phillies fans are sewer sludge. They talked a big game, following Rollins' lead. Now that they are in their coffins, they're acting like it didn't matter anyway. I wish nothing but pain and frustration for Philly fans. My favorite part of the parade yesterday was that coffin with the Phillies logo in it. I also liked Mayor Bloomberg sending a new crystal ball to Jimmy Rollins. That was prime. Even Sterling threw in a jab at...

I don't know if it was at that homestand but we saw a Don Mattingly walk-off hit that year. I think it was earlier in the year than the homestand. Paul Zuvella was batting .000 and was in the 2-slot (must have come in for defense or something). He came up with 2 on and 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th and us down by a run. There was Donnie standing on deck but he might as well have been a mile away with Zuvella at the plate. It seemed...

It might seem odd but her scorecard is sometimes sold now as a memento. It must be fairly neatly done by now. And it is a record of the game. Since it's a clincher it has some value, not necessarily having much to do with her per se. xxL

haha if his manager didnt intervene, who knows. With how gehrig hit for his career, it could have been liver disease named for Lou Gehrig

I am Yankee lover that loves the Cowboys.. Does that count, or is it the opposite. Keep in mind that I dont hate the Giants, because they beat out my most hated team, the Patriots, and in the best way possible.

Your number 2 hitter should be a contact hitter; a type of hitter like Damon/and or Jeter. He strikes out way too much...but he would be a fine addition to the Yankee team but should the Yankees wait a bit more to see what comes out of Jackson before considering to trade him?

This is why the official scorer should have a say. Team losses too. Why should a pitcher get a loss when he did his job. Say a fielder makes an error that leads to the other team winning. Now can they replace Melky if he can't play anymore? I think so. With who?
