Yeah, I agree about your point about $100 million contracts being enough. It's kind of rediculous, the scale has gotten all out of whack in baseball. The salaries have a crazy range. Because there's even more money than ever, when teams make bad contracts, it drives all the contracts up. Like Carlos Silva for example, now there will be tons of pitchers who will make a lot more money than they would have 5 years ago just because some...

not a bad team at all, but I don't want to get Torreabla who doesn't want to be with the Mets at all. Also you would have to give up Ike Davis to get Carlos Pena, and Cameron stinks and I would much rather Pagan out there then him.

so from now on your position is a profit cap and not a salry cap?....if you are for real stinky count me in bro!....but don't expect the owners to agree though, in fact expect the fight of your life brother,,,,they feell all the money should be theirs....and jdranger would have no choice but to agree, and your admisson that you would like this better than a salary cap has had more of an impact than the salary cap thread has and proves it...

when i was like 4 my dad is a huge met fan and brought me to alot of games, it so happened to be the 86 team that i was watching lol but i was so young to understand the beauty of winning a championship but ive been a fan since then

He can't pitch more than 5 to 6 innings a game. Not. Harden would kill the bullpen, he doesn't pitch long into games and also has had some injury issues. Harden has alot of talent but we will need some more long relievers in the pen as he doesn't pitch alot of innings and is injured alot. Averages only 17 starts a year and an average of 5.6 IP per GS. None of the injuries seem serious but ...

I hate lidge, last year he was perfect (zero blown saves which is what kept the Mets out of the playoffs), and this year he hands the Yankees a championship, why should we love him?, I guess you're more of a Yankees fan than a Mets fan.

imho, anyone who cries over payroll should be mad at players and their agents. as the fact youre alluding to, a player will sign with who they want to sign with. if all things are equal, a player is going to sign with a contender unless that player is a fluke. if that player is a flukle, hes going to make that cash grab and phone it in.

they have a core that consists of two 1st ballot hall of famers, 1 guy that will have a shot of getting in (posada), and 1 guy who is a tier below hall of fame calliber (used to be 2 when bernie was there) in pettitte. depsite a lot of their horrible moves over the years, that core is as good as you will ever see. it just appears that this year cashman's moves finally all panned out.....i hate ...
