I have the Jets-Bengals game on and I saw something I have never seen before. Keep in mind I am not the biggest football fan you will ever see. I understand some of it like some rules but football for me has always been just for entertainment. I mostly just watch too see them beating the snot out of eachother for three hours. I am a Giants fan but it was never anything like with The Mets. Ok ...

I went to the Peoria Saguaros game in the AFL last night to see the Mets prospects play. Murphy didn't play in the game, but took ground balls at second base during batting practice. After BP ended, all of the players but Murphy went into the clubhouse, and Murphy and 3 coaches stayed on the field working on fundamentals with him at 2nd. They mostly practiced making throws from the bag, ...

This is shaping up to be a great series I think. Obviously nothing is decided yet, but it looks like the Sox and Phillies will both make it in. Such a series should be pretty close and dramatic. It's tough to put away the Phillies. They wont be denied, and the Red Sox know how to shut down an opponent and exert their will on other teams. I think the Red Sox are stronger on paper than the ...

Cubs Best O in NL - 20 new posts

Cubs best offense in the NL this year are out of the playoffs after scoring a total of 6 runs in the 3 games against the Dodgers. I wonder which is better, offense or pitching? Seems to me that pitching wins championships.

this offseason. I think the ball is in Omar's court. The Yankees will be looking to sign CC and Tex, the Angels will be focusing on bringing Tex back, the Cubs are already a great team they just got cold at the wrong time, and that's pretty much all of our usual competition. Look at the two big free agents we'll be looking at this offseason: Manny and Krod. There's basically no competition for ...

Sign Hudson, Lowe, Ibanez, Oliver type. Hudson would solidify the 2b position defensively and in the clubhouse. I sign Lowe which will replace Perez as far as our #2. I trade Ryan Church and Nick Evans in a package for Putz or some type of decent closer. I put Daniel Murphy in RF and Ibanez in left. I bring up Niese and keep him as our #5 for youth and to mix that clubhouse a little. Also I ...

I'm sick of people saying "don't bring back Delgado and Perez because we can't have the same team that failed." Let me clear something up, I'm all for live as a team die as a team, but look at this: Offense: 2nd in the league Starting: 5th in the league Relief: 13th in the league The bullpen failed, plain and simple. Maybe you could argue that we need a 5th starter, but we don't need ...

After this series, I can see the Cubs (who must really be down on Soriano) looking to move him. For one thing, their lineup is too righthanded. So it makes sense to move somobody. Omar will bite. Just watch. Because Mets need a leftfielder and a righthanded bat, and you know Omar likes Soriano. So here it is: Nick Evans, Ryan Church and Aaron Heilman for Alfonso Soriano & a minor leaguer....

1) Need a LF 2) Need a right handed bat who hits for power & avg 3) Won't need to trade F-Mart and other prospects 4) Won't demand a long-term contract like his previous 8 yr deal 5) Won't have time to wear out his welcome like in Boston 6) Tons of money coming off the books 7) He was raised in NYC 8) Omar has always had his eye on him 9) Even though the bullpen needs to be addressed, their ...

Not because of last night. Not at all. He is going to blow out his arm. His motion his herky-jerky. He's all arm. He's already lost velocity and has to go often to his change up. If the Mets sign him, he'll be joining wags on the closer-DL. Mariano Rivera has lasted so long because of his nice easy motion, great mechanics. Don't sign "K-Rod"!
