I would be interested to see if there is a correlation between scurfyness and SI, and wether this alters or influences the condition - ie. is their overactive skin production a contributor to itchyness etc, as Im sure SI sufferers as more scurfy than non SI sufferers.
I tried so much stuff last summer - Only had ponio since May last year - we tried
benzyl benzoate, antihistamine cream, kill ...

I have not tried it to be honest.
I find that as long as the haylage isnt too rich then my horses are fine.
If it is too rich, my TB gets very loose droppings and passes water from the
back end.
I have found a supplier where the haylage is just perfect. Not too dry and not too rich.
I really wouldnt waste money on balancers etc. Even when my TB has been very loose and wet, ...

I relented and took Rosie's off at the beginning of the month but kept all three of them in a well grazed area. It started looking quite sparse last week so I let the old girl into the ling grass but kept Rosie and the mini on the
short stuff. When the weathor turned I let them all mix in together. She has access to quite a lot of grass now but for 12 hours of the day it is too frozen to do ...

I would mix it with some hay to start with - thats what we did when ours moved. Only thing is you might find your horses may find the hayledge
irresistable at first and want to greedy themselves on it!

We used to feed
Outshine for maintaining weight on our TB and can recommend it, I would try outshine first and see if that has the result you want.

She's not that porky! Yes, a bit cresty but honestly not too much to worry about.
I would keep her on the diet she is on - changing to straw is IMO a last resort (esp as you can't get
oat straw) and as she's not obese or dangerously overweight then I wouldn't recommend it. The only thing to get weight off her now is work. I would bet that she is fitter than you think! I would gradually ...

Think I replied to this elsewhere.
Micronised linseed is supposed to be good for adding condition/weight gain, it is suitable for lami ponys.
I bought a 25kg sack from charnwood millings, cost about £30 incl delivery, all my
4 love it. You only need to feed a small amount so a sack will last ages.

Has any one used this.
apologisein advance for the horrible subject, but Tylers poos are a bit softer than usual and there is watery 'follow through' ( I am cringing as I type!!!).
I know it is a combination of the
haylage (which is a bit wetter than normal but not massively and also being indoors i.e not 24/7.
Now my main concern is that his gut is OK but it also looks awful as ...

I would firstly cut down the haylage by mixing it with feed quality straw or hay. A horse that is not working and has little
turnout needs low protein forage and vitamins...nothing else.
