You may remember my post about XC practice a month ago - hired course with instructor and had a fab time. I am quite nervous about jumping (don't bounce well at my age!!) but my new mare has been giving me loads of confidence. She took all the fences really steady, and never showed any sign of hesitation. So today we did clear round XC at the same venue. Today was a completely different ...

Is it acceptable to wear coloured jodhs for xc? I am doing a diddy ODE soon, and normally wear beige, but as we have a lovely grey Bartl saddlecloth, black BP and hat silk (and boots and gloves too) I thought I might wear a grey top - then I thought grey jodhs too, so everything's black or grey. Does this sound ok, or a terrible faux pas ? I do have black numnahs which I could use ...

I have recently started jumping my mare. She is eight and I have had her for two years. Up until now I have avoided jumping as when I tried it she didn't seem to like it. But recently i have treied again jumping logs on a hack and she seems to enjoy it more. We hired a xc course and her jumping really seemed to be improving. I don't have a school and she won't play ball when i try to jump her in...

Had a jumping lesson tonight. I've posted lots of times about my mare - she is very dominant and really hates being told what to do. We've made a lot of progress over the last year and I've found the best way to ride her is just sit quietly and avoid arguements. However, as she has got fitter she has started to revert to her old ways. Anyway, tonight instructor made me get really tough...

My o/h has a 15.2/3 4yr old gelding who is showing promice over jumps and he was wanting to take him into working hunter classes but my o/h is too old to do most workers classes so can only do SHB classes. The max height of a jump is 3ft 9 as far as I am aware, not sure on the mas spread but my question is will the horse look too small? I know that the classes are open for horses from 14.2 up ...

So if you know your number beforehand can you print off your own piece of A4 with your number on it and use it in your own bib without having to walk miles to the collection tent to go and get theirs? Or does the collection of it denote some sort of declaration of arrival??

Where is there one?? I'm looking for somewhere that has some 1' - 1'6 type minimus cross country fences to school a small pony. Anywhere within about 50 mile radius of London. Any help would be appreciated
