In the Nvidia control panel, try disabling 'Threaded Optimization' for the NWN profile, should be under 3d settings. If that doesn't work you could try a different
graphic driver. I'm not entirely sure what's best for a geforce 4mx, which is pretty much a geforce 2mx, probably an old driver would suit it more.

Oh, I also tried
Compatibility Mode for Windows XP SP2 and SP3, as well as 98/ME. Also tried running in Administrator Mode, but this doesn't make a bit of difference anyway since I disabled UAC.

I recommend you furnish the full hardware configuration specs from your nwconfig.ini so forum members who may be able to make a helpful suggestion can hit the ground running. (If you can't find the file, run Configure with the game launcher, then Change-Scan-Report to save to desktop.) Good luck!

If you hit
the shift key 5 times repeatedly in a row that can happen. Not really a problem unless you continuously hit the shift key without pressing any other buttons. If you really want to disable it, I suggest you google disabling sticky and filter keys in Vista.

Did you follow the web address that was provided in the (first) error message? The most common cause of your second error message is someone downloading the critical rebuild for
NWN with no expansions installed instead of the one for NWN with HotU installed. (The address in the updater's message would be to the "Hordes rebuild" -- the one for NWN with HotU installed.) Which file did you download...

Not that I know of, but you could try asking in the general forum. There probably is not enough of a demand for such a proxy, as instead of a proxy, players could just choose a server that's closer.

Have you tried lower resolutions or video settings to see if they make any difference? Also, I don't have any confirmation on this, but I've read that setting an
executable to disable visual themes and composition can lighten the overall load on the system. To do this, find nwmain.exe in the install directory and right click -> Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and under Settings click ...

I had it running fine on 7100 for months. I set compatibility mode for XP SP2, and that was it, no run as administrator. Turning off
UAC stops the prompts each time you start, but that is no biggie. _________________ It is done, It is done, the world is free!
