Really itchy, red facial rash.
Published (2009-11-26 17:13:00)
Hi, A few weeks ago I woke up and the area around one of my eyes was swollen and there was a very itchy, red and warm-to-touch rash which was mostly on one side of my face. There were also very small bumps where the rash was. The rash was largely across my hairline, above my eyebrows, on one eyelid and on one cheek, on both jaw lines and a patch on my neck. The heat of the rash also extended to one of my ear lobes. I went to the gp that...

Really Dry, Flakey Skin on Face...
Published (2009-11-25 20:02:00)
Hi Dean, I have the same situation with the skin on my face. It started with one tiny dry patch on one corner of my eyebrow that would flake off, then over several years became both eyebrows, bridge of nose, part of forehead. It certainly is embarrassing. However, I have worked out a skin care regimen that solved the problem for me & hope it does for you, too. 1. Avoid soap or any perfumed lotion on the areas that have the dry/flaky...

I have had an itch on my leg for months now, It is driving me crazy, my gp says not to worry but does anyone know what could be causing it? It isn't red and there is nothing showing on the skin but I do feel a very small bump under the skin right at the side of the shin bone

Can't say antibiotics ever did a thing, was on them for years and were useless, think they were tetracyclines. Tried lots of strong prescription creams that burnt my skin and Dalacin T was pointless. The only thing I ever found that totally cleared up my skin was Dianette, got put on it at 17 for about 8 years, was gutted when the docs took me off it because apparently it's bad for you long term. I'm using Duac cream now, is...

I lost my big toenail last year - and it took a very long time for it to come off, as mine was still partially attached. I covered mine with lint and microporous tape until it came off, and then continued to cover it until the nail was growing back. The best thing to do it stay off work until you can walk fine and there is no pain in the toe. You could cover it to stop it from hurting, but ...

1st rule - never worry about hair loss. I lost quite a lot of hair early this year, I thought this was to do with stress from college, and I was scared of alopecia areata - and my doctor jumped to a conclusion and said it could be that - and even reffered me to a skin specialist. I had a blood test and it the end it showed I was anemic - I had an iron deficiency. My doctor put me...

When your hair grows back after hair loss it can have a lack of pigment that means its a different colour, and plus, the hair doesn't tend to thicken up for a while, at least until it's got back to it's length. I'm waiting for my hair to grow back after I realised I was losing a lot of hair - which turned out to be an iron deficiency. If you still have patches then getting a blood test could be ...

I have the same issue. Its a fungal infection, very tenacious and very hard to get rid of. Here is what has worked well for me. Tea tree oil, apply a few drops to philtrum 3-4 times a day after showers/washing and before bed. The skin my peel, flake and burn slightly as well as turn red. This is due to the killing off of the fungus and the thickened skin in which the fungus lives. The ...
