Published (2009-12-22 12:54:00)
A couple of weeks ago i had bad laryngitis, i got rid of it within a couple of weeks. Today i woke up with a sore throat and i thought it was just because i was sleeping with my mouth open. I had a drink to rehydrate my throat but it was still sore. A couple of hours later its still very sore, and burning a little ( my throat burnt a lot when i had laryngitis before) and it is hurting to swallow, talk and shout, the same as when i had...

Hearing heartbeat in my ears
Published (2009-12-24 08:18:00)
I've been getting this for a couple of years - it's like feeling a pulse in my ears which is in time with my heartbeat. It mainly happens when I go to bed (or maybe I'm more aware of it then). It's got more frequent and louder in the past few months and I assumed it was down to getting older, as I'm 58. Today I looked the symptoms up on the web and it might be something called pulsatile tinnitus which is sometimes...

Lymph Node, throat problem, bad...
Published (2009-12-27 16:00:00)
Hi, I have recently had a MRI scan two weeks ago due to having a lump on the right hand side of my throat which is sore when touched, but have been told it is a lymph node, my throat is sore but not all the time and I have a constant bad taste in my mouth every day, and recently feels like I have bits at the back of my throat all the time like biscuit crumbs. I wake up through the night with an excessively dry mouth and sip water to ease the...

Chronic Excessive Phlegm
Published (2009-12-31 15:40:00)
i too suffer from chronic phlegm. i hate it and i dont know where it appeared from. i had pleurisy 6 years ago and have never been the same since. it was interesting to read the comment on red wine, i do drink it and have never given thought to the sulphite contents. clearing my throat constantly is depressing and annoys everyone around me. it is especially annoying at meetings or social events. my doctors only advise has been to stop...

I too suffer from excessive phlegm and gastric reflux. It started around a year ago and I visited my doctor firstly with the phlegm problem and then chest pains which he diagnosed as gastric reflux. The drugs prescribed for both problems by my doctor have not helped, and because I am completely healthy otherwise and the two symptoms seem to me to be linked, I was very relieved to hear you too ...

If this doesn't happen at other times, except stressful moments then this sounds a bit an anxiety problem. You should probably learn some self help techniques.

Hi I have had this for years and I've had every test going including sinus scans/eye tests etc to no avail. Often this pain is referred and caused by things happening elsewhere. They have tried me on drugs (anti-depressants at a mild dose to tackle the pain) - I don't recommend this route. After many sleepless nights (years) I am now managing the situation by the following: Botox ...
