Quote - (dewmaniac @ Nov 2 2009, 16:04) What is you can't even get to the safe mode? It says cannot boot safe mode while still installing windows. But it never completely install windows and it just sits on a blank black screen with arrow. I cannot even use recovery manager and recover vista. I basically have a dead computer....help! Then if I boot it in F10 mode, it says: Edit windows boot option for windows 7...

Disable Auto Arrange in folder view
Published (2009-11-03 14:49:00)
I agree. This is one of the show stoppers that is preventing me from moving to W7. Really. I eventually got over the removal of the Explorer icon bar in Vista with QTTabBar so hopefully there is a fix for this glaring omission around the corner. Another nice feature that was removed was the sort headers in icon view. Now you have to sort with the context menu or by switching to details view. The animated network icon I don't care about...

Just saw this thread.......and dude it may be years old for you, but Hauppauge has released this card in many countries off recently, they should not do that just to get rid off their old stock. Quote - (NeoFlux @ Jan 12 2009, 15:37) You're not buying another Hauppauge product again because they haven't released x64 bit drivers for a product which was released a couple of years laters? Give me a break, all companies...

Windows Update -> Explorer crash
Published (2009-11-04 03:24:00)
I had this plus I have had other random Explorer crashing issues. Right clicking on the desktop randomly and one time trying to empty the recycle bin. I have tried disabling any shell extensions like Nvidia, Eraser and next I am considering removing Shelltoys to see if that resolves anything. I wish the damn event viewer would give more details like a dumb files does. If anyone has seen similar issues please let me know thanks

Quote - (Mr. Bungle @ Nov 5 2009, 18:23) This was the very first thing I tried to do when I discovered libraries in Windows 7. Luckily Microsoft have provided a programatic way to add network locations, so I wrote a tool to make this easy. It also provides some additional features like backup/restore of library sets. You can download it for free (+ WPF source) here: Win7 Library Tool Thanks. GUI is so simple.

If I knew how to grab a screenshot of the actual logon, I would. EDIT: Just saw the direction below your image. Sorry. Never used a VM. To lazy to learn now just for a screenie.

I got so excited when you said the Vista patch worked for you... until you said "Windows won't realize it". Regardless, since I already added stuff to my Libraries via WMP, I'll try it and see what happens.

I am experiencing an issue where my computer screen is blank after booting up into Windows 7, like I see the new boot image fine, but after that, there is a period of 20second complete blank screen, like the monitor isn't off, because it doesn't display that "loss of power thing that normally would if it did" and the keyboard and the mouse aren't receiving power either. I also notice that ...

I had a somewhat similiar problem, running a dell inspiron 1100 with a stuck resolution of 480x640. I just fixed it by installing dells driver for XP and running it in compatability mode. You all seem more technically inclined than me, so I'm assuming your problem is worse. Hope I helped.
