Quote - (Gus. @ Dec 3 2009, 21:24) I still think the problem may lie in the video card drivers, post #6 above, I posted 2 links to the VIA chipset drivers, I think you should try version 5.x first, if they're not the right ones for your chipset then try 4.x Once the proper chipset drivers are installed, this may allow the video drivers to install and work properly. Would it really be safe to install chipset drivers from...

Cheers for your help guys but it seems that the files are pretty much beyond repair. What the hell could have happened to do that to all the files!? I mean one on two fine... but ALL of them from the holiday? They were fine when reading from the camera initially, and there were some photo's that were not in the camera's created directory which were just fine after the others had gone corrupt too. Very strange indeed.

Quote - (SkyDX @ Dec 5 2009, 19:36) So I just bought DesktopFX from http://www.desktopfx.net/ via PayPal and to my surprise I didn't get a automated reply email with the download link, only a PayPal verification that my transaction was successful. I guess the developer manually sends out the emails, anyone else bought it and could tell how long it took before they got the program?...

Define "steal my internet". If you're using wireless, turn that sucker off. Otherwise, use WPA2 and set a password.

Both are bad choices for such an old machine. I would recommend Avira Antivir or Avast. Both are very fast and free.

How did it get so fragmented with only 40GB used? Did you have it nearly full than delete a majority of the data or something? Also, is it the system drive? If so, moving it to another computer as a slave drive will allow it to move more files (literally no file usage, vs an active system drive locking many system files), not sure if it will really speed it up though....

I remember an email client with the same name a few years ago that was in early alpha testin. The UI always looked sexy. Not sure if this is the same app or not. Sure doesn't look sexy.
