I think some of the problem is peer pressure and some of it is what you're familiar with. Most graphic forums I've visited will practically laugh anyone off the forum if they are not using Photoshop. When someone does post something great made with the Gimp everyone is shocked, like no way can Gimp do that. Another problem is that most people are more familiar with Photoshop. It's what they started on and they know how to use...

I've not tried this beta but seems like there are good feedback! Hopefully it will be official release soon cause I'm finding 3.5 quite lag now.
