Hello! I have decided that Virgin Media are starting to get a little above their station with charging me when I don't even know what for. What I currently have: Up to 8Mb with free evening and weekend calls - £14.99 a month. The reason I chose this is because the BB only package costs £19.99 a month, so I get more, for less. However, this month I am being charged £23.11 or something...

Next to me is a Compaq Presario CQ50 that I'm trying to connect to our router. Only problem is that everytime I connect it asks for the pass, I hit connect, it scrolls that green thing across a few times, then says that it can't connect (Vista is irritatingly vague ). It then tells me after asking for more info that there was a connection timeout. I'm not very good with networks and stuff ...

Hey guys, I have posted here a few times about a new network I'll be building in a new house. The Phone and DSL will be put in on Monday. I have one question though. All the of jacks in the house have all 4 pairs inserted in the jack. Is this correct or should it just be 2 pairs (RJ-11 configuration), will the other 4 wires interfere with voice communication, or can I just leave them be?...

I want to see how much **** I can load on this computer and what will it take for it to not boot up anymore.... Enough is enough. Look up in the sky in approx 5 minutes and you might see an airborne Netgear router. Either that or smash the mother out of it. Both are hard choices for pleasure. Can someone suggest a new router for me? Or perhaps solve the mystery of this one? Its a Netgear WGR614 V6. Over the months I have had it, its been slow at best and no connection at worst. Here are the ...

Right now I am evaulation NOD32 for Vista x64... just tried AVG Home 8 (gawd i didn't like it, and it didn't catch many of the viruses I tested with it) but are there any other good virus scanners out there that are light weight (have trend micro at work and i dont like it much either) or is it just a good idea to get a subscription for NOD32? whats your opinnions?

OK well maybe it does and maybe it doesn't. I don't really care. But what with their crazy EULA for using it (which basically amounts to 'if you use CHROME, then Google will own your soul) and the fact that they are abusing (well OK that's possibly debatable too) their market position by placing the CHROME download link front and centre on the main Google page, I won't be in a hurry to ...

Hmm, I'll see if others are having the same problem if I search around Google. And no, it's no subsite of Wired, just the main site. Maybe my laptop needs a reboot, it's been running slow recently and I love having a fresh system.

A hypothetical question to a real life situation. The network I'm connected to is being monitored (web addresses, file names, the works). Is there a setup or a program that can circumvent this kind of monitoring? Prevent the logs from seeing where I've been and what files are crossing my desk. I transmit and recieve customer data as well as personal thing I don't want the monitor to see. ...
