No need for the hostility guys, to reinforce what David said your best bet will be the Range and Obby Maul, which is the most common in PvP. Secondly about your final option, which was: ~ Mage Pure - 1 Atk, 1 Str, 1 Def, 99 Mage, 1 Pray, 1 Range The Third option is fine if you want to get obliterated the second you step in the wild. Without high range or high strength with such weapons as a DDS or G Maul you won't stand up to the other...

Kalphite - Take ages to do, I don't use cannons. Hellhounds - Stupid slayer monster, they drop nothing, and pre-Kuradal they were forever packed with noobs trying to get Clue Scrolls. 100k exp for a Christmas Event? They're just meant to be a fun event, not to give you a great reward. Haven't tried this years event yet though but past ones have been alright.
