Someone asked about uneven milk letdown. I was taught by my old
lactation consultant that you offer the breast that's not letting down as much first . The baby's suck is strongest at the beginning of a feeding session so you have a better chance of stimulating that side to produce more milk the next time. Half-way through, I would switch over to the other side so that my baby would get enough...

I give my daughter the
comb or brush (whichever I'm not currently using) to hold. But I'm not sure that will work much longer. She's only 5 months old. I hate TV for kids but maybe a favorite video will keep her distracted long enough.

QUOTE(hervirtue @ Sep 10 2009, 03:54 PM) 1. When did you start showing? Do you show faster if you've previously had children? I started showing around 4.5 or 5 months. He's my first so I can't answer the second part of that. 2. Are you buying
maternity clothes or just bigger sizes? I remember 10+ years ago when I had my two sons that buying maternity clothes was a given. Nowadays I ...

I think your instincts are correct. It shouldn't hurt your daughter to get her hair combed. You don't want her to have negative associations with caring for her hair. Somethings that may help, besides combing while wet, are detangling in small sections and detangling from the ends first. Don't try to take a comb through it
from the roots. Take a small section, hold an inch or so from the roots...

Why do I keep thinking about having a little girl lately? I have two boys and a friendly mirena IUD. I wanted to pass my love of napptural hair to some one, and one day teach her
how to breastfeed her own kids if she so desires.. My husband is opposed to my boys having locs, so I was hoping for a little girl that I could make long latched braidlocs down her back. but my second was a boy. ...

I would take him anyway. At least see what the doctor says, it can't hurt. To be honest, I would be worried if my 2 year old was 22lbs. My children are small for their ages but my 2 year old (33 months old and will be 3 in Nov) is at least 30lbs (I'm hoping (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif ) He was 27 at his appt at 29 months) I hope everything is okay with your son. You two will be in...

I found this article entitled "
How to Teach Your Child Black History" That was posted in Ebony in 2001: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m107...56/ai _69653981/ I think it's an important thing for we as parents to do, to instill our children with a sense of culture so they have a firm grounding when they get older. I believe a lot of problems we have as a community would be remedied if ...
