I'm not sure why 10-15 HR would be considered optimistic. The seasons hes had 300+ at bats: 2002: 15 HR 2003: 14 HR 2005: 15 HR 2006: 23 HR 2009: 9 HR Only this past season did he hit under 10 HRs with at least 300 at bats. You don't need impact from your young players. You just need solid contributions. You get impact from your stars.

I just hope they see the non-tender/arbitration/trade process through first before making a quick strike to lock up that stud Molina before the Winter Meetings. At least show me you were considering other, more attractive options.

I believe they set their rosters as in who is ADDED .. But there is nothing saying the Pirates can't trade Zach Duke for some A ball kid who doesn't have to be protected thus a spot open.
