Champions Online and Nvidia

Just had a flash of mental gymnastics about this game, which makes me think that graphic issues in this game might not be fixable. Originally, when Microsoft was running the show and this game was going to be Marvel Universe Online, the game was meant to be Vista only. There was never supposed to be DX9 or XP support for the game. After MS dropped the game, Cryptic salvaged their work and began to rework the game into Champions Online and...

QUOTE (bobskisr @ Nov 28 2009, 04:03 PM) After 64 years on this earth you grow a thick skin. Anyone that can’t take getting slapped around a little shouldn’t post anything that will have people taking one side or the other. The end result is the person making the post ends up in the middle. Over a year ago I put up a post saying almost the same thing about VISTA and got the same results. I just can’t get over how some...

TCP/IP Acceleration
Published (2009-11-27 12:38:00)
QUOTE (TheZapper @ Nov 11 2009, 04:49 PM) I'm sure this is old news, but the registry entry for TcpAckFrequency, changed to a 1, takes my latency back to the levels seen with TCP/IP acceleration. This has worked on XP-Sp3 and Vista x64-Sp2. I've been searching for this solution for a long time. Just search for TcpAckFrequency and there are a lot of sites that have the steps. I've confirmed that this also works...

Okay this is my last shot at getting some sort of help. I found http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=100800 and followed it as best I could. Memtest came up with 6 passes and no errors after running all night. I don't know how to check my PSU but I do know the box was marked as a 700w (rocketfish) and a review I found said it worked well. I've also been monitoring my tempatures lately and they have not once gone above 60...

I have the same issue, I have GT 220. That card has tons of problems whit drivers, and I can use only 7.15 (actually Vista drivers), all the others, no matter Vista or Win7 drivers will crash my computer 20 times a day. Just like that. And that is, no matter if I have Vista or Win7 isntalled. So there is no driver upgrading for me. In this games case, it would not help anyway, and I have tried all of them, I have messed with ini.file, I have...

QUOTE (Hexen525 @ Nov 27 2009, 04:39 AM) Why is this thread in the RPG game section? If you like XP, stay with it. No one cares but you. Technology moves on. In cars, cell phones, printers, TVs, entertainment media, tires, light bulbs, toilet paper and yes, OSes and PCs. EVERY company will be forsaking XP in the next few years. See any support for 98 these days? Nope, XP will go the same way. Win7 is to Vista what XP was to...

I have GeForce 8600 GT. At times a message appears on the Quickbar that the drivers have shut down. I saw it after a few crashes occurred and it lingered there in the Quick start bar after I shut down the web page by plinking at the scrambled image until I got lucky and it closed. The little stayed in the Quick Start Bar until I moused over it when my connection gets scrambled. As I mouse over the icon it disappears and the message appears...

So you have done XP mode and maybe Windows 98 mode? That game is insanely old by todays standards. Admin Rights enabled? Game fully patched? Does the game run in Vista SP2 (the OS, not a compatiblity mode)?
