Luis, Just noticed CVI 9 announcement in the board. In the notes there are the following bugs... 120414 Strip chart scrolling is very slow when many points are plotted and y-axis autoscaling is disabled Yes 41422 Plotting a large number of points at once to the strip chart causes the x-scale range to be incorrectly updated Yes Any thoughts on whether or not either or both of these might be involved? ...

by the way, now that CVI 9.0 is out, can we start making suggestions for the next major release of the compiler ? personnally, i'd like to see CVI 10.0 performing some optimization: constant folding (i hope it is already there), common subexpression elimination, function inlining... there are so much more ways to optimize the compiler output. would it be possible for NI to consider such a major improvement ?

Hi, now, I came a bit nearer to locating the problem. With ni Max, alls measurements are ok, also the resr with the frequence generator and 200 kHz is ok. The Problem must be in Saving the data to a file. I used ArrayToFile and fprintf, both methods seem to be much too slow. When aquireing data with a very low rate (e.g. 5 Hz), everything is ok because the Buffersize will never be needed. In this case, I defnetly reed faster than I...

Sorry, didn't quite finish my last message. I guess the concern is that the toolkit requires the OPC server to report a datatype before it can retrieve data. I don't know if this is dependant upon the 1100 PLC or RSLinx Classis OPC server that is installed. Thanks for any help! Regards, Ed.

Hi, in C a struct is a data type, and you cannot assign a default value to it. You can assign a default value to a variable of type struct, with the following syntax struct Device myDevice = { 0, 0, "127.0.0.1", 25000}; Hope this helps, Aldo

Luis, I attempted to substitute an asynchronous timer into my project but now cannot compile my project. I have Labwindows 8.5 and it seems I couldn't find anyway to remove the watch expression variables and many of them are no longer valid but still remain there. There is no delete command to delete the variables. The section in GettingStart.pdf used to have a delete command in previous LabWindows now is gone. Is there a way to delete the variables because it's annoying?

Hello all, One thing that has long bothered me and I hope is solved in CVI 9.0 is that the font in the chm help file of CVI has a fixed size and is much too small. Using [Ctrl][numpad +] or [Ctrl][Scrollwheel] on it doesn't do a thing. And with today's screen with huge dpi it's getting unreadable. It's a simple fix in the css file. So, has this been fixed in 9.0 ? -- ...

Hello all, I'm always a bit confused when I try to use tabs. Main is a panel that contains a TAB Panel=LoadPanel (0, "GenepiInterface. uir", SYNC); Index = InsertPanelAsTabPage (Main, MAIN_TAB, -1, Panel); The above puts the SYNC panel inside the last tab of the TAB control. OK. So if I want to refer to a control on that tabbed panel, I should use: SetCtrlVal(Panel, ...
