Adding More 12v sockets
Published (2009-11-26 03:09:00)
I've been planning to add some in the back. I was going to run a large wire (fused of course) to the battery or PDC, through a relay (either having the outlets key-on hot, or controlled via a switch), and feed the outlet(s) that way. For ground, right to the body. I've already got plenty of wires under the hood, but I haven't gotten around to putting in a distribution block and redoing any of that yet. One of my endless list of...

LC arm mounting location for HM...
Published (2009-11-25 00:32:00)
I know I have read this some where on here before, but I can't seem to find it. Please excuse me for being a noob! I have a set of home made long arms. The LC arms are 34 1/4 long eye to eye. I'm going to start building the frame mounts and need to know where I locate them on the frame. I've also read that a pinion angle set at 5 to 7 degrees should work. Is that correct?

what happened when the u-joint when out? did it break or just get loose? if it broke then the ears of the inner and outer shafts may have jumped on top of each other and bent the inner knuckle. that could be why they suggested an adjustable balljoint to help correct the increased camber caused by the bent C

Honestly the Electric compressors suck. Maybe with your twin alternators you could run a small "real" compressor. Hell I built most of my jeep with a little DeVillbiss, 1.5 hp 3 gal
Or look at using YJ accesory brackets, they mount things a bit differently so I think it could work if you relocated your battery.

Do you have ABS?
I did the WJ booster swap (2001+ Grand Cherokee) in my '89, and now have it in my '88...it's an easier swap then the 96+ booster newer rigs can do.

There was a write up in JP Magazine that was going the opposite direction, newer doors on an older MJ (one of our member's MJ), but the info is still good:

Hold a 33inch spare? I found one at the salvage yard off a 85 Chief- its the type that mounts to the bumper and quarter panel.

Nobody has seen or used these? They're great units. I personally tested one in my jeep for over a year with zero issues, and they can be purchased for about $75-100 cheaper than an ARB. D44, and D30 available right now, with many more applications on the way.

What transfer case? SYE is always better. Tcase drop adds more stress on the motor mounts. It's up to you in the end.
