Brake pad question
Published (2009-11-10 18:50:00)
I don't regard HPS anything but a low dust stock replacement pad. Having had them I wouldn't recommend them for anyone who does any form aggressive driving. Auto-x or street. Somebody who wants better performance than stock, even as you suggested, should step up to something different. There are much more suitable pads. I recommended the Ferodos because the dust they put out is MUCH easier to clean than OEM and other aftermarket...

Turboback Torque Values?

I keep meaning to buy a TQ stick. I will say this, whenever I have new wheels (I mean brand new), I ALWAYS use a TQ wrench on them for the first 15K or so. And I recheck the TQ every 500 miles or so at first.

You could get an fp 18g for around $850 but you would definitely need new injectors, fuel pump, a tbe, and preferably a bigger tmic. Snoop around there are plenty of much better suited turbos for the 2.5.

There are threads dedicated to modded 08+ WRXs in the Member's Car Gallery . You'll find plenty of tinted windows in there. The WRB and Satin White are the only factory two stage paints on the WRX. They're marginally more durable than the typically weak single stage paints Subaru uses on the other colors. That said, Subaru's weak paint means the Dark Grey Metallic and Black don't look good for very long without...

If you want a bnib exhaust that has been raved about on here from ebay, get the SRS Catback for like $200-250...If i didn't have a my Bosal, i'd rock it for that price. They say the sounds nice too.

seems like you have a ill fitting, poorly made SS. return it, sell it, junk it. seems that the joint to bushing area is too long. I'd buy another ss before cutting into the metal to make it fit.

Stop with the advice giving if you have no clue what you're talking about.

Those sound like the s-techs. You aren't going to like this, but you should have read the FAQs. They aren't too well regarded unless appearance is all you are interested in.

Depends how important the sound is vs the power vs the cost to buy an ELH. Only you can decide for you.

Depends on how you look at it. Top-end, the 300whp wins. In the twisties, the 300wtq wins, assuming all else is equal.
You don't have much of a choice with your car though (at least on the 2.0), it's going to make about the same horsepower as torque, until you start making big power and revving out higher, where hp will be higher.
It also depends VERY much on where the power is made ...

My suggestion- use the Post Report clicky thing. We will handle it. I don't allow bashing at ALL in here, be it from Newbies or regulars, and will act accordingly.
An immediate ban is just not realistic.

s techs on stock struts would be worse than stock springs, they look good but their just too low for stock struts. There's tons of info on nasioc about why s techs suck on stock struts.
There are only a handful of spring that really work well with stock struts. Lowering the car too much on stock struts will make the car look better but handle worse.
Two of the most popular springs that...

Unless you want the performance gain of a lightweight flywheel, I would go for the resurfacing, I don't see any reason you couldn't resurface the original. All you would need is a machine shop with a blanchard grinder
I wouldn't pay more than about $50, even if they remove the dowel pins. Also there are "insert" style flywheels that have a removable friction plate for ease of replacment ...
