It ended up being the cobb flat foot shift setting. I reset the ecu almost two weeks ago and didn't know it even had ffs in the map. It reset to 4,500rpm. So everytime I would go to shift when wot it would go back to 4,500rpm. I can't believe this one got past me lol oh well its better now.

There was a header shootout a while back that showed a 10whp gain from ported stockers with a new crosspipe (not even close to 3", nobody makes a 3" crosspipe, I doubt it's even 2"), and a 20whp gain from both an EL and UEL tubular header. This was untuned on stage 2 power levels.

The stock injectors are more than enough for the stock turbo, regardless of the boost, unless you go to E85. You don't need injectors now unless you plan to upgrade teh turbo later.

K&N vs Perrin Drop in Pannel...

Both the K&N and the Perrin drop in filters suck nuts. They are expensive as hell, filter about as well as removing your paper filter and installing a piece of screen door in there, will add 0HP, and will take 5 years to provide a cost benefit, AKA 2 years after most people sell their car. So the reasons to get one are: you scored a free one or you are a lunatic. Had you read the Intake FAQ that is stickied at the top of this and 4...

Yeah, after i fix one problem then another one occurs. Right now, my check engine light keeps coming on after i hit full boost and im sure once i fix that ill have another problem. What problems are you having with your 08 sti? Does anybody have a diagram of how to have a manual boost controller installed? Should i use the stock T and a restrictor pill still? I think that might be my problem!

^ yeah you're right, it's compressor surge. I added shims to make the spring tighter, that made it worse. I took all the shims out and only left the spring, that helped a bit. It seems that if I'm making < ~2psi, it surges. 2+ it blows off correctly is that acceptable?

Dont run a boost controller. Put a turbo-back exhaust on the car, and just pull the vacuum hose that goes to the wastegate spring.

You won't be disappointed by this setup at all(unless you're wanting 400hp). The reason people say don't do it is because after a while, you may get bored with it and want a bigger setup. I will be going with a VF39 setup soon, but I'm going to use it as a stepping block to my next setup instead of spending the whole $3500 that I will need for my final setup. This way, once I have the money ...

any mod is worth while if u dont mind spending the $. Im getting one cause im spiking to 21.6 lbs on a 19lb tune. And the ewg should help regulate that. Also u should hold boost better, gain some hp + tq and spool a little faster. Plus if u go bigger turbo in future u are set up. Imo its a good move but u dont need it

You are describing "turbo lag" in your previous post. The best way to improve on this in your 2009 WRX is probably to stick with your stock turbo but replace your DP (and preferably cat - back as well) and then get an Accessport or a protune. This will all help your turbo spool up faster and your throttle response will be improved. Now go search.

Has this been happening since you got tuned or did it just start? If this has been happening since the tune, you probably want to go back and get rechecked.
