Measure the bores without torque plate and measure them again with torque plate fitted. After this you know there is only one RIGHT way to do a bore/hone job!!!

My first thought has to do with cooling. Basically, making things more effective for cooling. This is an offshoot of some of what we learned on last year's one lap of america. We ran into some cooling issues then, and that got me to thinking for a long time about the subject.

Don't know about the knock, but the
AFR's seem pretty lean to me for pump.
I am assuming pump as you don't mention Meth/Alc injection in your speclist.

I'm assuming you already had the bores measured for out of
roundness and taper? What were the numbers? How many miles on the blocks?
