They are not gonna be as durable as an inverted strut design would be. They could be close but there is a reason that almost all Higher end rally struts are inverted and alot of street struts also. So your telling me that the shock shaft (piston rod) is the only weak point on non inverted struts? How bout the extra load put on the seals?? To me that seems to be the main problem. The non inverted strut relies allot on the seals to control the...

Top hat fittment

As long as the coilovers were intended for the older model car they should fit. The rear tops from '02-'03 had a different spring perch and also a different interface with the top of the piston rod on the strut. If you are using '02-'03 coilovers with '02-'03 tops they'll bolt into an '04 STi just fine. You might run into problems with the rears if you're using the older tops with a set of...

For rally-x + daily, I can really only suggest D-Specs and look at a GC coilover kit instead of normal springs. You get a lot for not much cost. Plus you can just buy another couple spring sets cheap and get a decent combination of settings. The D-Spec is a capable product that supports a wide range of spring rates from less then stock to 350 lb/in (or higher if the chassis is lightened). The GC coil kit allows you to custom pick spring rates...

A1 Cardone steering rack?

Check to make sure the STI rack has the same number of splines as your current rack before switching. The STI racks have a different number of splines than some other subaru models and they will not fit up without some other modifications.

for the price of roughly 100 dollars (used) you can buy lowering springs with some actual performance gain...i highly doubt ANYONE has done this (or at least has the balls to admit to it) on this forum.

I have H&R springs on my 07 sti with stock struts and I love them. The ride quality is almost stock and i love the drop. I used to have RCE blacks and the ride was so bouncy that I couldn't stand it so i got the H&R springs and that fixed the problem. The thing to remember is H&R is German made so its deffinately geared to handling and comfort. I think im gonna go with the H&R coilovers when I ...

We are in the process of testing some inserts that we made with the help of Hot Bits. We are developing valving that is tarmac and gravel rally inspired. The inserts are large monotube high pressure shocks (insides of Hot Bits coilovers). They feature 40 position one way adjustability (comp. and reb. adjusts at the same time). These inserts are great for fast shock shaft speeds (gravel...

Whiteline comfort plus Urethane wrapped in a metal sleeve. Can't be greased, but WL I dont think claims it really needs it. Prothane kit Urethane, two piece with a metal sleeve. I thinking of drilling the A-arm to put in a zerk fitting. The bushings are already grooved inside, so grease should flow well through the whole thing But it's urethane, I'm afraid of it's bad reputation...

One spring rate, one damper setting. Dampers really aren't there to adjust ride comfort. They are there to properly damp the spring/mass system. There will be one, single point that functions best. All other points are effectively worse. Essentially, you're just going to swap springs as the best route. The damper setting will follow the spring rate. Do you need to spend $6k?...

this is a much needed product, currently there are no 09 specific springs on the market. springs geared toward the 08 are much too soft, STi springs unfortunately have fitment issues. I'd very surprised if there wasn't some real interest in this. I'd sign up if I wasn't running D Stock this year. Mike

1st off what is your budget? Tokico Dspecs are struts (struts and shocks serve the same function, but technically a WRX has struts). I don't believe Greddy makes struts. Those Tanabe GF210s drop about 1.5"F/1"R for the '02-03 WRX version. So if you don't want too much of a drop 1.5 in the front may be more than you are looking for. The newer version GF210s (04+ WRX) have less of a ...
