Amp and Subs
Published (2009-11-05 10:52:00)
Learning alot from you guys, so much explanation. Really appreciate it. This is what I got so far, I'm still waiting on what kind of subs I should get. Doesn't matter how much it is, I get payed this week so I will have enough. I need something that doesn't overpower nor blow easily. Something that gives a good solid sound. I have 2 different subs, One is the powerbass and the other is the kicker. The other kicker and powerbass...

Amp and Subs
Published (2009-11-05 09:31:00)
If you're doing +50% of the speakers power rating you are doing good. You dont have to max them. 300 watts RMS will hit real nice in a truck's cab, plus you have another 300 watt RMS working with it 100% in all mono. There is some slammin there. All these speakers you looked at are dual voice coil which adds a little little more complexity to it. Here is some basic configs for dual voice coils. Here is at 1ohm: Here is at 4 ohm: You...

Amp and Subs
Published (2009-11-05 10:36:00)
Jay: I looked up to see the total the amp gives out at 2 ohms which is 600 watts RMS x 1 so that means that with dual subs, im only giving 300 to each sub? This depends entirely on how the subs are connected as well as the individual impedence of each particular voice coil.   If the voice coils are all connected in parallel then the impedence the amplifier sees is :  1/{ (1/R1) + (1/R2 )+ ... ( 1/RN) }  Where R1, R2... RN are the...

Look for a class d amp which is excellent for subs. Cross them over and set em at ~80hz. Also get a amp that can do the lowest impedance of the setup(1-4ohms). Optimum would be everything in parallel however you can do each speaker's dual coils in series to jump the impedance if needed.

Well, if you want to risk it, you can try any one of 100's of those NY box house and B stock places. Or you can hit Adorama, B&H, or other decent priced, reputable dealer.

Check your friends xbox network settings and do the connection test. If he played pirated games, then his system is probably blocked from xbl.

PS3 to TV should be male-male, if you have DVI on the PC videocard you could get DVI to HDMI cable and plug PC into TV's HDMI port. The VGA port on the TV may only accept certain resolutions, the HDMI works better. If you go with VGA it's basically just same ends as a monitor cable.
