Problem compiling...

Hello everyone, I'm trying to compile the 64-bit version of MySQL 5.1.41 on Snow Leopard by following a tutorial from HiveLogic.com. http://hivelogic.com/articles/compiling-mysql-on-snow-leopard/ I got as far as downloading the mysql-5.1.41-osx10.5-x86_64.tar.gx file, unpacking the files into a new folder (/User/doug/src/mysql-5.1.41.osx10.5x86_64), and moving into the new folder. I run into a problem when I try to configure the release....

The package you downloaded is a binary release. Get the source release here: http://dev.mysql.com/get/Downloads/MySQL-5.1/mysql-5.1.41.tar.gz/from/http://mysql.he.net/ The hivelogic tutorial was not enough for me, though - I can't get the resultant binary to pass the tests ("make test"). I wish that whoever compiles the official MySql binaries would just post the compile command that they use. That would solve this...

After a hard day's work i figured out how it is installed.. I followed the instruction in INSTALL-BINARY (Folks follow each and every thing carefully it does work perfectly). Things worked fine. I started the demon and it worked fine.. So far so good. I created a database, table having two columns of polygon. inserted some data into it.. Everything worked fine.
