All the trannys can be used as good units if the proper mods are done. All can be made to 70-71 specs as for the hemi units. The item that needs to be done is to have the drum machined out to accept a nother clutch and dics.A good tranny shop with a lathe can do this,or a machine shop.Srvo lever can be swapped out no big deal and other mods at home, alonf with top quality parts and a valve body. 3681864 74-75 440 3681866 74-75 400 3893753 740400...

Kent, Look on the other side of the engine for the casting numbers. Then refer to this list to see what it matches up to. http://www.mymopar.com/index.php?pid=66 Give me a week and I'll post pics of both a 340 4-bbl and 340 6-bbl engine block ! Regards, Jim

Inner Rocker/Crossmember Repair

QUOTE (jim77070 @ Nov 17 2009, 11:00 PM) Where in PA are you? I'll be in the Punxsutawney area for the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Depending on how badly rusted the car is, bracing maybe needed. Check the door opening gaps. Are they evenly gaped? Do the doors open and close with ease? If yes, then the car hasn't sagged from rusty crossmembers, rockers or other components. Use a maganitic base level to check the degree...

1967 GTX racing stripes
Published (2009-11-21 21:23:00)
1967_plymouth_pc.jpg ( 117.09K ) Number of downloads: 3 Thanks bombfactory. I did consider that the stripes on the hood and trunk might be different distances from the centerline, but not that they might be different widths anywhere. I did find more info on colors. Looks like with my bright blue metallic exterior and blue interior the only available stripe color was dark blue metallic. 1967_plymouth_sport_stripes.bmp (...

QUOTE (Angus @ Nov 21 2009, 09:51 PM) Hell, They could be made to take a beating. The 3681866 is for a 440 but not HP the way it sits. Rebuild it as a HP trans, The 3681864 is for a 400 motor, the 4028424 is also 440, not HP, and the 3893765 I could not find. I am sure someone looking for a case to redo could use them. I guess that's the real question. How does one rebuild these as HP transmissions? It's got to be...

restoring a 1950 plymouth

Make sure that you take lots of "before" and "after" pictures of the car as you restore it. It will make for a great picture diary of the restoration that you can share with your friends and will be a cool reminder to yourself on how much hard work you put into the car to make it awesome looking again. Here's a link to a BEAUTIFUL 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe 4 door that I thought you might enjoy...

QUOTE (Baron300 @ Nov 26 2009, 09:28 AM) Does anyone know what this form is? I found it under the original carpet when I replaced it with new in my '68 Plymouth Fury. I was hoping to find some Build Sheets, but this looks more like some kind of inspection form.

either way, the ring gives em somthin to drill into if they need to balance it. when i first got my cuda years ago , the little six that came in it original would barely run but it had a big counterweight bolted on the tailshaft. took it off and it had the vibration from hell , put it back on and it all went away. was tons of fun liftin the six outta the trunk cuz they had crammed a 318 in ...

i doubt that you would be affected by spark travel delay, you could probably run wiring through frame rails. On my cuda, I relocated battery to trunk and mount msd unit on fender above battery tract using rubber grommets to absorb movement. on my 69 z28, mounted the unit under my glove box and ran wiring through firewall using grommet. Good luck with whatever you decide!...

I don't have the specific dimensions of the stripes, nor do I know what color they were, but I wanted to give some insight about Le Mans stripes in general. An autobody repair shop that deals with classic cars may have the stripe specs on a computer system. In the event that you or whoever will be painting them don't have experience with Le Mans stripes, they are not a single width. They...
