I got the red album several weeks ago and haven't been able to get into it. It's too reminiscent of 90s alt metal for my tastes and I've found I just can't sit through it without wanting to put something else on. __________________ It happens sometimes. People just explode. Natural causes.

The Body, The Blood, The Machine is pretty good but I really like their latest one, Now We Can See , better. I haven't checked out their first two, but from parts I've heard of F u ckin-A , I don't know that I'd like it. I like punk rock but this is more indie punk and the sound is a bit thin with vocals that can get a bit annoying. I guess I find the sound more full and the vocals less annoying on the most recent. Absolutely loved the album. Just full of great riffs, awesome drumming from Grohl, and the whole thing is infused with a lively playfullness that is fantastic to hear. I gotta give it some repeat listens, hopefully this week, and I can then provide some more in depth thoughts and opinions, but from an initial listening point of view, just awesome. __________________ "She said kill me a dynasty or our love won't mean a thing, a...

just listen to the clip. it's only about 30 seconds long. no more than a minute. it's at the end same as the way most modern 'soul' singers vocalize. you know like when the line is OOOoooooooohhhh.... but instead they sing OOOooooooOOOOoooooOOOooooOOooOOOoOOOoOOoOoOOOOoOOo OOOooooooohhhHHHHhhhhhHHhhHHhhhhh...h......h..h...

This is a great thread mate, I look forward to seeing more of these as you count down your favourites. I already have a Green Carnation album (A Blessing In Disguise) that I'm still getting into so I won't be checking out that but I will give Hacride a try they seem very interesting.

I've never seen that argument before .. Looks a bit to me like you've made up something to argue against. I like lots of music by bands that never really concerned themselves too much with messages. Just throw a glance at the many content Canterbury bands from the 70s. Or another example; I very much like the album Tarkus which is about a half-tank/half-armadillo. I don't think any of the ...

Wow, they are ranked very low on the list of bands I've seen live. Perhaps because it was more recently that I caught them, but it was fu cki ng terrible. Now that I think about it, it could be a number of things to why the show sucked (venue, company, fu ck in' sound guy, etc.) , but I stand in my ignorant ways and am pretty content about never seeing them live again.

the chili peppers are the reason i started playing music in the first place. i'll always remember the day i first heard their music. it was spring 1990, i was watching over my cousins at my aunt's house and had muchmusic (canadian version of MTV) going on the tv while i did homework. they had a metal show called 'the power hour' every night, and that evening was an interview with metallica ...

Muse are reasonably popular in the States now as far as I am aware. Absolution broke them over there and Black Holes I think was very successful there. They both went Gold in the States anyway. It wasn't always that way, I seem to remember the release of Origin Of Symmetry either got pulled over there or it failed and was very quickly deleted. They are very successful in the UK. ...
