I am a returning student and mainly train the big lifts in the gym as I am going for my first strongman contest sometime next year, so uni will be tough unless I get a good gym. I trained last year at bodypower gym some of you are from there I know, probably seen me around. Well anyways this year Im living near Rodney street, so walking to bodypower would take forever. Just ...

I competed in a qualifier in Bexhill on Sunday, and did well enough (only just!) to qualify for England's Strongest Man u105. Never expected that! Here's a summary of my day - DEAD LIFT - 220 for reps - managed 6. My target was 6/7. VIKING PRESS - not sure what weight was in hands - managed 9 reps (joint 3rd place). ATLAS STONE FOR REPS - 110Kg - I expected to perform poorly, but ...

do any strongmen/powerlifters/bodybuilders here do good mornings to build the deadlift? and squat too what sort of weight can you do relative to the squat and deadlift, and what else can you do to increase the deadlift, my deadlift hardly improves and think i need to stop deadlifting and do lot of lower back work, including good mornings

for my thick bar ? have recently started messing around with mine (5ft piece of scaffolding) but have just added some car wheels on it today (not much space left for plates now). 6ft would be better (with same inner collar spacing) or should i just go for 7ft like my oly bar ?

This is a message to those lads planning to be there to help reset on the day. This year they really have gone to a tight structured production. Because of the crowds last year and the expectation for bigger crowds this year we have gone to a central MC and the arena PA will now cover the strongman so we have no sound clashes. They are also having Giant TV screens set up around the arena ...
