Ah, no bright red tongue here. I did check her mouth because I wondered about hand, foot & mouth. She's pretty much the same wmmc, thanks for asking. I am waiting for the triage nurse to phone me back to decide whether she needs to see the GP. I suspect not really, as she is pottering about quite happily. Glad to hear your DS is better! I think... - ah. just had call from nurse, who...

No experience but I think I would go back and demand a referral. Poor girl to suffer like that. I wouldn't put up with it if it was me so why should she? Do you have private health cover by any chance? Or maybe could you try natural stuff, naturopath, acupuncture? Nothing of any value to add but didn't want to leave without saying something.

Had saline nasal spray prescribed by the doc - my lo was about 11months at the time - and sorry to say, i would never do it again, it made her vomit and vomit and vomit. The chemist did warn me when he gave it to me, but I thought it was just one of those general got to tell you everything type things. Instead, used karvol on a hanky on her cot, elevated the mattress, and a steamer. Now...

Well DS (8) has been on it since he was 8 months old, if it stunts growth then he was obviously destined to be freaky tall as he's the tallest in his class! As for the increased dose, well for a bad attack he could have up to 4 puffs of 50mcg (in other words 200mcg) twice a day, he's been approved for that dose since he was 2. Hope that helps!

Hi, is he otherwise ok? My son had teh exact same thing and it was really hot to touch so I called NHS direct who said to keep an eye on him and if it settled then not to worry. Sorry, probably not much help. As it happens his DID settle by the next morning and was fine.

I had this with Dd - She was stuffy for about 8 weeks after birth.( now 23 weeks) I used little drops in water by her bed - from boots. Most aren't suitable for < 3months old but these were. Seemed to help. I also questioned the allergy thing but she 'grew out of it'

Oh SunMonkey that sounds awful. I don't have any useful advice but didn't want your post to go unanswered. I had to take DD to hospital every week for 3 months when she had a dislocated hip. It was nowhere near as bad as your day but wasn't fun. She often had to miss a nap which was hard The way I got through it was just to keep telling myself that however bad the day was, it would pass ...
