Personally, I think it is very important to carefully choose your home resort. For example, if you think you would want to stay at BLT (or other WDW DVC resort) most of the time, buying at GCV may not be
your best choice.
I own at SSR and I have not had too many issues getting in at different resorts right at the 7 month mark, although we have not tried to stay at BLT as of yet. However, ...

We got the
mailer as well. I thought about it for a second, but once I saw the purchase requirements, it took me out of the running. (Looking for an add-on, but not that much of an add-on.)
It would be a good incentive, if you ask me...

Congrats Mike! I'm
envious!
This just make me look that much more to our first stay in 2011.

Great Idea
What DVC resorts we own: (Bay Lake Tower and Grand Californian)
How long we've been a DVC owner: (since December 2008)
When our next trip is planned and where: (June 15 Grand California on Developer Points, but not in the new villas yet .
BLT planning for Nov or Dec of next year. )
Best part about being a DVC owner: (all the choices)
Worst part about being a DVC owner:...

First off... I would love to get conformation regarding this. I did some searching and I probably saw the same information, but its one of those things that instead of speculation, I would like to get the real word from
DVC.
Supposedly this change takes place on the 11th... I am sure we will get some first hand reports soon.
Second - It was a perk that I took advantage of the last two...

Really?? I'm the only one here that received this package?
Well, I don't want to spoil it for anyone else who might not have gotten theirs yet. So don't look if you don't want to know...
Spoiler:
It is a very nicely frame print of the
Grand Californian. Looks to be on the new Villas side (but I'm not sure). And it has a stained glass looking print on either side.

There is another consideration, which is any benefit you might get from the additional discounts available to AP holders. With an AP, you can get purchase a Tables in Wonderland card, which is good for a year, and you get 20% off almost all
table service meals. There are some other shopping and attraction discounts, you may be using, and even a DVC owner, sometimes ends up staying in an on-...

DVC is great for those people that visit Disney on a regular basis, think that will continue, and typically stay onsite at the nicer Disney hotels.
We always stayed in the Deluxe resorts at WDW, so DVC made sense for us. We recently added on at VGC so we could have a great
place to stay for our DLR trips.
DVC doesn't make sense for those folks that typically stay offsite or don't plan on ...

The short answer is yes. The
front desk will hold your package, just as they would at any other resort. You need to time it right, though; you don't want it to arrive more than a few days before you do, but if you wait too long, the shipping gets more expensive. If you are a DVC owner, and will be going down, at least once a year, consider getting an Owner's Locker, where you can store ...

Yep. It's
already gone up for new people buying into DVC. The Nov 1 date applies to...
