My husband and I went to Curacao for a week last summer and our kids went to swim camp at UCI. I swear UCI had the cell phone muber of every family member we have in the OC area. My mother-in-law being the closest and most available had a file folder with their health histories, insurance cards, permission-to-treat documents, etc. Of course nothing happened, but if it had, we were prepared.

Is it an excursion booked directly with Disney? My guess is that the 10:00 start time is for people not doing a Disney excursion, because the Disney excursions get priority. I don't think Disney would book something that was impossible. One thing I've heard is that if you're on an 'official' excursion and having issues getting back to the ship with the provided transportation...

For tipping, from what I recall, the recommended for a 4 day cruise is around $48 per person. You will get a worksheet in your stateroom that will help you calculate the exact amount as you can give each person a different amount. (Stateroom host/hostess, and the different servers.) The guideline above is just that - a guideline. You should think about bumping it up some, especially if ...

Spin bikes in Magic fitness center? What kind of pedals? Pretty simple questions: Are there spin bikes in the Magic's fitness center? I wasn't doing spinning when we cruised the Canal last year so I don't remember noticing. I don't mean regular stationary bikes , I specifically mean spin bikes , and, presumably, spin ...

I was upgraded one category to a porthole cabin on my first cruise, and one of the families that I ate dinner with had been upgraded from a porthole to a navigators verandah. I didn't ask for anything, and my TA was notified less than a month before the cruise. I received the email on 4/21 and was sailing on 5/11. I don't know how often they have upgrades available at the port. Or if ...

We have done two Disney Cruises a 4 day on the Wonder in May of 08 and a 7 day on the Magic May 09. We also just booked a 4 day in March of 2011 on The Dream. I also have three kids. Hubby and I have cruised two other lines and why they were nice we much prefer Disney. We both agree if the kids are coming along then the only line we will cruise as a family is Disney. We and the kids absolutely ...

We noted this (with great pleasure) on the Magic last month. The prices have gone up but no longer needing to carry or find change makes it worth it IMO.

This story sent ice water through my veins. Joe, David, Amanda and I just did this exact Segway tour during our port day in Nassau last week, AND visited the Queens Stairs after our tour. I know Drince and her sister did the earlier Segway tour too. The full story is on the Cruise Critic Web site ( link ). AVP
