I've had the privelage to be one of the fly fishing guides for the National Distributing trip on the San Juan for the last two years. They always bring tons of new products. This year they brought a great beer called Gorden Biersch, the best part is it coming in a plastic bottle with a micro glass liner that keeps it from tasting like plastic. The glass liner will not break. I still would ...

So I moved up by Glenwood and while there is something to do doing the day, night time seems to be a little differet. What do ya'll do at night to meet people and have a good time? So far I have just been watching my co*% get smaller. I don't have a lot to work with so help a brother out soon.

Hi All, the folks at Grand Canyon National Park opened up some cancelation lottery dates yesterday. Instead of sending out an e-mail alert as was the case in all earlier lotteries, this announcement went out by RSS feed ONLY. Here's the beta: TWO follow-up lotteries are currently open. Follow-up lotteries are held as needed throughout the year to reassign cancelled and/or left-...

Wondering if this section of the New is Rowable. If so is it fairly straight forward to row or is high skill level required. Thinking about rowing this and camping. Was even thinking of extending the trip to Glade Creek to Stone Cliff. What do you guys think of this stretch. A buddy as asked about coming and owns a sit on top kayak and was wondering if it is too rough for that type of...

I've been giving this subject a little thought recently. I tend to strap my creekboat cockpit down, hull up on the roof rack of my car for transport. I do this because (a) it gives me good clearance for driving into a garage, (b) it's a very stable position on my rack, and (c) it's easy to reach over the top and strap it on. However, I've been beginning to wonder if having the hull baking ...

I'm thinking of buying a new digital camera, and wondering if there are any that work especially well with kayaking/rafting. I currently have a canon with a waterproof case, but it was more designed for scuba diving so it's pretty bulky and not great to use for boating. I remember seeing a post about some compact camera that was water proof down to 15m or so a while ago - anyone know of any ...

Oar length formula? - 11 new posts

Here is a formula that seems to work out for NRS frames. (Frame Cross Bar Width in inches + 12) * 3/24 = Oar Length in feet then of course you have to round up or down depending on your preference. remember oar length is measured as shaft plus blade. comments? d

The Bureau of Reclamation has released the long-awaited Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Windy Gap Firming Project. The Project, proposed by the Municipal Subdistrict of Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District would move the Colorado River another step closer to being a "flat lined" river, with flows perpetually at low flow levels. The Bureau of ...
