ok-that's 530g with the regular bearings and about 520g with ceramics....that's without rings!
What is so special about it?? I think that's still pretty heavy for all the effort and money that goes into this project or am i
missing the point?

go 28, it will make for a much stiffer wheel. 4 spokes will make a
world of
difference.

Does the seatpost collar not have a torque spec
engraved on it? Tighten it
to the specified torque

I forget exactly how the Hope brakes have evolved, but they went something like this:
Caliper for Mono Mini Pro:
Hope Moni Mini used an older caliper design which required the wheel to be removed to replace the pads. also used a steel piston instead of
phenolic piston (plastic composite). Depending on year the fittings were either steel or aluminum. I forget when it chagned.
Caliper for X2...

Previous threads about lightweight SPD style pedals always ran into this wall: All the lightweight options from Xpedo and Exustar run on bushings that don't last.
However, this pedal uses 3 cartridge bearings with no mention of bushings. Does anyone know anything about it? Since I'm 20lbs under the weight limit I could even get away with the Ti
spindles. They'd drop 140grams from my SPDs!

Since this was brought up recently in a post I thought I'd document the weight difference and savings you get by swapping out the stock steel
spindle in a pair of eggbeaters, for a shorter spindle made of titanium that has been for sale on Ebay recently. Supposedly these are made from a much stronger titanium the Ti-6al-4v that we get in the stock titanium spindle from crank brothers. These ...

I have been looking around also (I need a 400mm in 30.9) and I saw the Ritchey superlogic post which looks enticing, although pricey.
I did come across a good deal (relatively) and found one at bluesky for 129$ USD, unfortunately not my size though, 31.6 @ 350mm and 188g.
