Thanks amillmtb! I went to Stans, and worked out a wheel set with their weight calculator, and even though they state this as not being completely accurate, the weights, for a total built wheel came in a bit heavy. What combination of Hub/spoke are you using with your Olympics? I like the design of the Alpines, looks like they can take more of a beating, being close to the shape of a triangle. I builds I came up with were 1470g and 1520g. I...

The only complaint on my is i had some brake levers that leaked DOT fluid, when it did some of the finish came off. I'v had mine on since march or feb. they have been through daily training, races and a few crashes, never had a problem other then what was described above. I paid about $69 from ebay

That is a tough one. Would you be buying the Trek from a local shop. I
almost think the combination of Treks warranty and the help of the LBS
since you bought it there would be worth it over buying online form
pricepoint.

Hi,
You may have seen the 5.97kg Cannondale Flash that S. Roth presented in the Eurobike (pics 1 and 2)...that bike had a pair of Crank Brothers EB 4ti that weighed 139.2gr. A very nice weight but we still can push the boundaries a bit more.
This is a pic of a disassembled CB EB 4ti already tuned (pic 3) but still a bit "heavy". Basically, we have to modify every single part (weights ...

Since this was brought up recently in a post I thought I'd document the weight difference and savings you get by swapping out the stock steel spindle in a pair of eggbeaters, for a shorter spindle made of titanium that has been for sale on Ebay recently. Supposedly these are made from a much stronger titanium the Ti-6al-4v that we get in the stock titanium spindle from crank brothers. These ...

I've sold a few hundred sets of these over the past 3 years and have had
nothing but positive feedback from buyers. The bearings have a 2 yr.
warranty against failure and I have never had a bearing returned for a
claim..............yet.

Heard a new creak yesterday. Found the problem. Broken stem.
I've had this WCS stem for years and been quite happy. I'm inclined to replace it with a WCS 4-axis. New bars were purchased last month so I need to stick with a 25.4mm stem.
I know many of you run the Syntace, but I really don't like the look. I would appreciate some ideas/suggestions.
Thanks.
Mark
