What a fun bike. Enjoy! Do something with that DHX5 right away. I don't have "first-hand" knowledge or anything , but I hear Push is a same day turnaround. You could potentially get your shock back by next Saturday if you use US postal 2nd to/from.

Got some nice Happy Ending on Wed. Got I love Flag. It was also entertaining to watch people try and walk around Happy Ending. It's way more dangerous than riding down. Might have a video of it.

New shock for 05 Six Pack
Published (2009-11-13 09:53:00)
air shocks are terrible on the 05 Pack / 06 RFX in my opinion - that would be a downgrade plus like Jayem said the geometry would be bizarre - send your existing coil to Push and improve the ride that way - quality of travel versus quantity! - what are you trying to achieve anyway with an RP23? more travel or a lighter bike?

Nope.
The Spot BB is 73mm
The Highline uses an 83mm BB.
It would be too long for the Spot and even if you adapted it with spacers and such the chainline and/or q factor would be totally screwed.

After several rides on Kosmo's Sultan, I was convinced that I needed to dump my 26er and graduate to big wheels. There were a couple of other brands I was considering, but not that I had a chance to test-ride. This '09 XL frame w/ XT FD came up on eBay, and I knew she would be mine. (The front triangle was actually a warranty replacement, with full upper taco weld and cable guides, never built...

i have only been back on a mtb for 3 months after a 10 year break and am
hooked again. i got a used 5 spot with some nice speck and i am loving how
well it climbs and how sure footed and confidence inspiring it is. I went
for a blast with the guys from work, only problem was the torrential rain
and the eye popping wind, we climbed 1700 feet in 16 miles (i need to work

Which rockers? I think you can use the 5.5 Spot rockers for 5.5" of travel, but it's my impression you can't use the 6.3" RFX rockers at all. Anyone with more info chime in. Also, I bet most homers will ask why you want the change, your riding style/terrain/etc. More info will always help.

i wouldn't bother. its likely not worth the time and energy. if i were you
i'd just sell the individuals parts (disc wheels, disc brakes, etc) and
inform potential buyers of the complete bike that there is a disc
conversion adapter available and let them make the call. some people like
v-brakes and others already have disc wheels. of course, this only makes
sense if you don't want/need to keep ...

I think DT should add a footnote to the sizing chart that says "and oh, by the way, if you have over xyz inches of seat post showing, you need the next size up".
And though I'm an admitted big fan of Turner bikes, it still pisses me off that the new Sultans are shorter in the TT dimension for a given size. After 10 rides or so, I quit noticing it, but still, PLEASE SIR, MAY I HAVE THAT HALF...

Yeah I can understand those points. I am actually running a Hutchinson Python on the rear of my 29er rigid, but that bike sees a lot of pavement, bike path, dirt roads, and smoother trails so I'm more worried about rolling and durability than sticky traction.
I went with the Python for the tubeless ready capability, as I've never been real happy with a non-UST tire running tubeless. I will ...

I was all nostalgic and fired up to recently borrow a high zoot Moots and go riding around well known trails. It was snappy, quick, and had that sweet ti feel going for it. Regardless, I'm not interested in having a HT ever again for MTB trail riding of any sort.
OP, totally recognize that you may be DJ, slopestylin, or just plain have skillz.

Another vote for Hadley.
No the quietest, but much stealthier than CK or Hope. Add to that flawless performance, and backed by Hadley's awesome CS. It seriously rivals Turner's.
Downside to owning Hadleys, they will last forever, thus you will never have to/get to buy new hubs.

I'm running a Push'd '08 Fox 36 Talas. I have no idea what the a-to-c length is. I run it fully extended at 160mm for all but extended climbs when I'll reduce travel to 130mm. I've never dropped it to 110mm. The only drawback I experience is when I start to mash the pedals on steep technical climbs and the steering gets slightly sloppy, but the benefit of the additional travel and stability on ...

I had a Marz air tst rear shock on my Rfx and the only thing I liked about it was climbing. I since switched over to an Avy chubby.

I'll give Turner a shot first, in case I can make a pilgrimage to the birthplace of my Burner. Is there good riding around Murrieta?
