Thanks Verve. On this road lies an enormous stone quarry. The rocks from the quarry are lined up in a row for miles. Twenty ton monsters.

Kids are great, and they do so much for our personal growth, if we are open to it. I'm glad you've started to carve out time for your riding (which is, of course, important), but it sounds like you can still appreciate the wonderfulness of your little one. Thanks for sharing your sentiments on both.

Living in ND, the weather has usually shut down riding season by now. Last year we already had about a foot of snow on the ground by this date. This year, we had temps in the upper 50's and dry weather for the last seven days. So, I stole a ride from ND winter today and yesterday. Hope the trend continues!

How about north...
I have hit 3 of the 4 on your list, and if you like those you would enjoy the 7 summits trail in Rossland, BC. Lots of other great riding around town as well.

I had a friend tell me that she went to a bike shop to pick up some parts, and maybe look at some new bikes.
Her experience at the shop was so bad, that she is thinking twice about getting back into riding. From my understanding, the shop made my friend feel belittled (my friend has been riding for 10 years, just stopped for the last 2 years due to injury) and was told that she wouldn't be ...

I'm fortunate enough to not have to load up the bike/gear just to go ride (do enough of that with my motorcycles). Everyday, it's just point and shoot.

N Utah. You can ride year round in both desert and mountain terrain. In Feb. you can ride Gooseberry and in July you can ride at 10,000 ft along lakes and streams.
A four hour drive gets you to such famous places as Fruita, Moab, Zion, Jackson, and Sun Valley. Plus, there is unending terrain in between. Park City and the surrounding areas have some amazing singletrack and, its true, ...

awesome, i love seeing this - i am VERY PROUD that my red heeler behaves as good as these dogs...she responds to hand movements and to the snap of my fingers as these dogs do. Some breeds are just smart and don't take much training in order to do the right thing.

Hoodoo Gurus
Cold Chisel

I tend to ride alone more often myself. I used to go backpacking alone a lot too. I hiked most of the Appalacian Trail through New England alone. Now my girlfriend comes with me. I have to say her presence makes it much more enjoyable.
I rode from New Jersey to Whitefish, Montana alone too.
I think I like getting away by myself from time to time.
When I ride with others it becomes more ...

Being slow has its advantages. The guys at the front of the group usually find the bees first.
Riding 8 hours a week doesn't necessarily mean you will lose weight over the summer.
Lighter wheels are better that heavy wheels. I realized this about 5 minutes into my first ride with my BWW wheelset.
If you finish almost last in an endurance race, all the beer will be gone. (This has ...
