You need to ask yourself what do wish to accomplish with the upgrades? New fork and crank will probably give you the most bang for the buck. Chances are the BB needs to be replaced anyway so you might as well get a new crank set. Truvativ Stylo 3.3 for ~ $120 bucks, and Rock Shox...

I'm running 2x9 24-36 & 12-26 cassette on my V5. I'm using a top swing dual pull xt FD on mine with no reducers. The haro is a bottom pull as the derailleur cable runs under the bottom frame tubing around the bottom bracket. The size is 34.9 for my medium.

I went the route of upgrading a similar level frame (Trek 4300) and put a lot of money into it. Now that I have better frames, I can say from experience that I would rather save a while and keep riding what you have if it isn't broken, so I could get a nicer overall bike. If you are looking at $400+ dollars WITHOUT wheels and disc brakes just to upgrade your V2 then save a little longer and get a frame to match those components in the...

I'd agree with what a couple people have said here...save your pennies and buy a new bike. It's a great time to be a consumer right now...lots of retailers (not just bike shops) are running great sales because the economy is so slow. Take on some extra hours temporarily at work or do some odd jobs...you'll have enough to buy a new bike before you know it if you focus!

great, the rear piston stuck ONCE for about 5 mins while unloading it from the car, squirted some triflow on them with the pads removed and not a problem since. Probably just mud on the piston seals. I run them on my 29er also.

I haven't been able to find anything either. Website looks to be moving the last of the inventory out... probably for the season. I just check in with the site periodically (although $20 tees are a bit high, IMO- can't imagine what jerseys would go for there)...
