Here's some reports on the impact of mountain biking. Both here state a negligible of impact on the environment. http://www.imba.org.uk/uploads/paper...t_al_study.pdf http://www.blm.gov/pgdata/etc/medial...yal_web_ea.pdf I could keep googling on, you can get the point with these two. One good storm can change the trail significantly. But a couple of bikers with pulaskis and a saw can make it all good.

100+ Dirt Demo @ St Park, 11-7...
Published (2009-11-07 20:10:00)
I got back a couple hours ago, rode out early and rode for almost the entire time. I only demo'd two bikes: the Stumpy 29'er S-Works and the Blur. Damn, bikes are so nice these days! I think it was less about the bikes for me, but more about the awesome day THC put together. Everybody was super friendly and things ran pretty smooth. A++ to Lars and the staff . Food and drinks definetely hit the spot and that coconut dealio was off......

To me biking means nature. Biking may not be the big key component, but nature is a pretty big one. Obviously there are other components that will make up my decision, culture, schooling, etc. But if I can find something that meets all of that criteria then why not?
And csuder99, I actually looked at friedrichshafen and saw what it is was near and thought that was worthy of researching. Ill ...

It's Fall, and we've done the Swap Meet, so that means it's Dirt Demo time again!!!
Similar spread this year, with some new additions, like Kali Protectives . We will miss Crank Bros, but it's great to have Nick back from Fox Racing Shox . Well, here's what we have on the table.
Look'n like about 22 bikes from Santa Cruz, Intense is driving up another 20 or so, Yeti ...

I e-mailed the site mgm't for a sticky on this.
There was a letter posted yesterday in the Marin paper about how destructive bikes are. What was notable was the author wasn't one of those two names most of us know.
I think the paper is the Marin Independent Journal, or something like that.
