this thread sure is promoting walmarts great prices for athletic wear all of you guys saying that they use sweatshops for manufacturing these items... you think they're FORCED to go there? Those people go there because they get paid to work there, its not slave labor. Just like people that crap all over mcdonald's minimum wage workers, they voluntarily work there... If they dont want to work there, or if people boycott mcdonalds...

I went and did two more test rides tonight - a second ride (longer one) on the Giant XTC 1 29er and a ride on a Giant Trance XTC 2. The 29er is definately the best ride of the hardtails I've ridden, but man, when I jumped on that Trance I knew I had to have it within the first minute of the ride - plush, but accelerated great, especially when I adjusted the rear shock to its stiffest setting. I liked it so much I put $500 down to hold it...

Yeah, I get that and it was unnecessary and poorly worded. The point I was trying to make is that those who can afford to pay a little bit more (like myself- although I am far from rich) should do that and be a little more responsible, and those that need to scrimp and save and claw for every cent are welcome to go to WM, because being socially conscious is one thing, but being able to put enough food on the table is quite another. I...

Could simply just be the wrong size spring for your size or not enough air depending on the fork. What fork was it exactly? Or the bike if you dont know what model fork.

I'm new to biking as well but one "cross-training" method I would recommend is rock climbing. Whether you just boulder, or do some top roping / sport it is a great way to spend a few hours and work up a sweat on a day you might not be able to ride. It promotes flexibility, great strength training (not just upper body either, once you climb more you really use A LOT of leg), and so many odd ...

I'm in the market for a Mountain Bike and am trying to get the best bike I can for my limited budget. I've got about $300 to spend, give or take. It will be used for trail riding, short commutes, and simple riding around the city. I'm 5'10. After some reading, I'm under the impression I should go Rigid, or at the very most, Front Suspension. And for my budget, I'm assuming the simpler, the ...

What do you think of this bike? Solid bike to get you underway.. A lot of your MX skills will transfer well into the demands of mountain biking. Got into this sport as a means of training for the weekend races then found I liked racing MTB just as much. i will mostly be riding uphill, wooded wet offroad trails. Any mod suggestions for the bike etc? Of course it's tough to say without ...
