Glad to hear you like the Velvet, it looks like you've got plenty of clearance. I have an N-gear on a 1x9 hardtail, and have used them on several builds for others. They work pretty well most of the time, but I still get the occasional chain drop. I'm pretty sure this is due to pedaling in reverse as I'm positioning the cranks over rough obstacles. There is just nothing there to prevent losing the chain from the bottom. To avoid...

So I got 'er out for a good shakedown ride today. It's been wet here so I swapped out the 2.0 Quasi up front in favor of a 2.35 Nevegal in anticipation of some sloppy conditions. That proved to be a good call. Wet leaves over mud. Set pressures at 30 psi & set up the Fox fork to their recommendations & off I went. Before hitting the trails I usually start my regular ride with a moderate climb up an old closed road...

If this has been asked before sorry for the double post ( I did not find it in a search ). Can any 26 hard tail be turned into a 69er with out any issues?

26" 1 3/8 = 650b?
Published (2009-11-28 09:38:00)
In searching for some old school parts, I happened on a pair of old Araya (Japan) rims sized 26 1 3/8" . they do not seem to be 26 inch rims but a little larger in diameter. The shop owner says they're for old city bikes. Is this size the same as 650b?

What about a Nevegal with a 15QR? Will it clear?

Love the Velvet! I've been on Fox forks for many years, but given the clearance issues they have, I wanted to get something that fit right. The Velvet is torsionally strong, and soaks up bumps as well as anything I've ridden. It's a simple fork to tune, just air and rebound. I would definitely recommend it over the White Brothers fork, if for no other reason than saving about $300. I have it adjusted to 100mm of travel, which...

I had the Force and SLX side by side and the cages are really close in size. Right now, I just have it set-up singlespeed with a tensioner and the 26" rear wheel.

Recently i saw a Sram XX fd, which seemed to be more compact. Remember: capacity only 2 chainrings..

I have & the HOLE MTB INDUSTRY! know that they can put lock out on thim there forks. I was going to sell my nrs but if I get a Haro 650b,but I have to change over to Sram shifting & I would put on Avid bb7s. As for the front...

650b was actually experimented with on mtb applications back in the 70s
when a already existing offroad tire was available for that size. I don't
think 27" was ever dabbled with for mtn bike applications. So for 650b to
reappear as a wheel size for mtn bikes is not such a stretch where 27"
would be coming out of the blue.

I was in a similar situation with a Haro Xeon frame. The spec is similar to the Yeti 140.
I ended up doing a 120 fork and very happy with the result. With 5.75 rear travel I think the 120 fork would match better anyway.

please! lets make a sticky for confirmed forks! also, im real interested, is the quasi going to work with a reba 26?? id really like to have the quasi+reba26 this would be super!! looking at building a xt/blunt, but my current fork (guaranteed to work) is 20mm. the reba states only .1" less clearance than the pike, i do not have one in front of me, but i really like RS's and id see it as the ...

Two rides on the new bike. Very impressed so far! I don't have much experience on 29er's, but they never felt right to me. By the same token, my 26" Litespeed hard tail was feeling tiny. I also ride a Titus Moto-Lite. So far, I'd have to say that the B-side feels smoother than the Litespeed. Haven't weighed it yet, but I'm guessing it's somewhere around 25lbs, maybe less.
