Droid won't run on A/C power?
Published (2009-11-25 10:12:00)
A NORMAL fully functional Droid WILL NOT DISCHARGE WHILE OFF.? Mine doesn't and never did.   The circuits of the droid are controlled by electronic switches.? The software sets these switches to "Off" during the power down sequence.? If those switches are damaged, they could be stuck on.? I regard this condition as a defective phone.   YOUR PHONE IS DEFECTIVE return it.? Best before the holiday I might add.?...

Droid rebooting....

I'm not a Verizon employee, so I can't answer this for certain, but if you're outside your 30-day trial period, you might not be able to return the phone without significant hassle (if at all).? If it were my phone, personally, I would be returning it for one that doesn't reboot.

It is simple and it works well.? When you add an item to your calendar on your droid, you can also assign it to which calendar you deisre it to land in. That way you can color code them. Right now I have 6 calendars layered up, with three subscribed calendars to boot (us holidays, Chritian Holidays, Jewish Holidays)? and those are color coded too.

Coynul, have you tried the hard reset as discussed earlier?? After doing it on mine it seems to have reduced the issue to being pandora specific.? Unless I've just not come across music on the phone locally again that does it.? All the TWiTpodcasts sound good now after the reset whereas before, Security Now was almost unbearable.   I also don't think its jack-related.? I get some unusual static out of the built in speaker...

Was your Droid's GPS off before trying to use it? I had a similar issue about a week ago: I turned off the GPS to save battery power, and when I needed it, turned it on and flipped to Google Maps. Thirty minutes later it still couldn't find me. Eventually I did a cold reboot and left it for awhile, came back later and it had my position. Since then, I've just left the GPS on at it's never ...

I have to say that setting up the Droid to my 08 750i was about as plug & play as it gets. It downloaded all of my phonebook which it would not do with the latest CrackBerrys OS version 5x for the Storm & Stormagain.

This is just a guess, but if you bring up the messaging app and go into settings, you can un-select Auto-retrieve, which I would think would mean that the messaging app would then only get messages when you tell it to, which would (presumably) be never.

I don't think so. On BB it was necessary because the mail is dowloaded to the device, but everything with the Droid is server-based. So it seems like it wouldn't really be necessary on the Droid.

You can't restore it.  You'll need to add another one.  I looked through my phone and didn't see any Bluetooth widget, so which one do you mean?  If you installed a Bluetooth app you can add a shortcut easily by long-pressing the home screen, add shortcut, application, then select the app.

I hate this answer but I will say it anyway. Its a brand new phone and the OUTLOOK application sync will come, your right its too big to not have this. You just have to "wait". Exchange sync was big and this uses outlook, its just a matter of time. I also use outlook without exchange and am waiting for this too. I was able to get all my contacts out of Outlook by exporting a CSV file and ...

I've seen reviews that say that there is no voice dailing over a bluetooth headset.  Is this true?  Will Motorola add this feature.  This capability has been available on other phones for a long time, and would be a deal breaker for me.  "Iphone killer" HAS to have this feature!

You are reading PC World and then using that information to complain? Have you actually gone into a Verizon store to verify the information because if you have, I'm sure that would help us all. As for the doubling of cancellation fees, let me explain how such things work. If you went into a Verizon store and were told it could not cost you anything to tether the Droid, you get it in ...

It really depends on how much you use your phone and what tasks you do on it when you use it.  It also depends on which apps you use and their settings.  The best way to extend battery life is to make sure your programs are not refreshing at incredibly fast intervals (found in settings for each app), GPS is not being used, and keeping an eye on your screens brightness.  Obviously a smart phone...

As I'm sure you've seen elsewhere on this and other forums, it's not really needed, or for that matter, desirable to kill off apps that are running in the background.  First off, you state the map and the browser are resource hungry, and that may be, WHILE they are the active app.  Sleeping in the background does not use any of your resources.  To prove it to yourself, reboot your phone so ...
