Published (2010-01-01 16:28:00)
I'm getting odd behavior when I connect my Q up to Win 7 and I sync up.? The sync works just fine, but after it syncs up, there starts an odd "focus grabbing" situation where every actve window blinks its title bar about every second or two, and the typing focus gets "grabbed".? This is happening on my Win 7 desktop, by the way - not the Q itself.? It even happens when I try to hit the Win 7 Start symbol itself, and...

Make sure it is an SD card and not SDHC - the high capacity cards can not be read by the Q. Also, is this a name brand card?

well, if it's a verizon Q, it doesn't use a SIM card. You'll need a micro SD card (if that's what you ordered you're good as long as it's not over 2GB for the Classic Q) if you can get the phone to start up, once you get the card, uninstall the applications that you installed yourself. then reinstall them to the memory card instead (do not just move the program files, you have to ...

As you mentioned the phone sees the card and you moved some pictures there. You can cut and paste using file explorer - the SD card should be at the top of File Explorer if you back out far enough. Depending on what version of windows mobile you have you can even install apps to the storage card (it is an install option sometimes). You can create a My Documents folder on the storage card ...

I don't know of any free solutions. For windows mobile devices, people have usually recommended Jeyo Mobile Extender. For non WinMo phones the solution is usually Motorola Phone tools.

A master reset will fix the start menu issues, but since it returns your phone to it's out of the box state it will erase all of your personal information (contacts, calendar, and any apps that you may have installed) Turn the phone off, and hold the Center select button, then power the phone on while still holding the button. keep holding the button until it prompts you to start the reset...
