Around the world on a Classic...

Dec, 15th. The End of the One-Man Band I resolved the towing issue although not satisfactory. Instead of leaving the bike for eight days in their repair shop, I opted for a one-time cash settlement of $350 for the damages. I drove through Bakersfield this past Thanksgiving on the way to AZ from Northern California. I can see why Cynthia would want to leave! Worst smog I'd seen in forever in the US! But talk about sweeping a girl of her feet! In what, a week? I thought you needed a Ducati or Harley to be able to do that! Have a great adventure you two. Choosing a Ride

I would go to Deals Gap AND trailer the bike down. I have been there twice rode there once and trailered once. Trailing the bike was faster , I don't enjoy slabbing too much. If I had the time to ride the Blue Ridge that's different.

Bakersfield isn't my favorite place. I've been to worse places though... Much worse. I won't name them. People in those states/towns would only feel incensed by my insensativity. (How's that for a juxtaposition of quasi-homonyms?)

Wow! I feel for ya Martin! It was cool, but sunny today in Clovis. I surely do not miss Winter life in the Rocky Mountains! I took this photo in Fresno today while I was out riding.

How cool is that! How long did it take? Visiting friends/family? Can't figure out what your "favorite helper" is; removable highway pegs? Both bikes look like they have stock seats; no monkey butt? Nice pics...one of these days...

A very nice report on an exceptionally nice ride. I've ridden most of those roads myself, and I know first hand the joy of conquoring Ebbett's or the beautiful solitute of Shasta-Trinity, the thrill of crossing Golden Gate, and the splendor of Humbolt. Happt trails Frenchy!
