Sounds like dirty carbs to me. But if you have been riding it steady, I would lean towards rust clogging things up, probably the main jet. It does not flow enough fuel, so it runs out after a while or at high RPM. Let it sit, the fuel flow catches up and fills the carb bowls, and then it repeats when you throttle up again. Clean the carbs as EZ said. Add a cheap canister fuel filter in the line between the petcock and the carbs to catch the...

I tried to crank it for a minute or so without the tank on it to try to burn up any gas in the carbs. I'll just prime them when I get it put back together. I was trying to avoid removing the carbs at all costs. But if I have to I will.

Step one: Write in plain English in our forum. You may have stuck floats or leaking float valves. I'm not as expert as some here on carbs, but I think you have fuel overflowing the bowls, which would probably flood out those cylinders. Please give more detail about how it runs. Does it stay idling? Does it seem like it's missing?

a) seafoam in the gas - the carbs may be varnished
b) vacuum lines from the carb to the tank (if original - or even close to original, replace both the vacuum line and the carb line, cost $2 / ft, by 4 - 5 ft and make sure it is the right size and rated for fuel)
c) a leak in rubber seal between the carb and the engine.

Robert I am not sure what you mean by the exhaust accuator...but suspect you mean the O2 sensor. If the bike is still under 'used' warrenty, (we get three months here) then the dealer is responsible for the replacement part and labour.
Several owners here have fitted aftermarket pipes to any number of machines and if fitted the O2 sensor is sometimes replaced by a dummy plug which fools the ...

High idle is the typical result of a lean fuel condition. It's not a "problem", but the inevitable result of lean combustion.
Stabilize the fuel rather than running it dry, except maybe for once a year winter storage.

Sport Bike Exhaust / Power Commander Q??
Here's my story. Last spring I bought a used 4 to 1 Yoshimura exhaust system for my 06 CBR F4i. When it arrived at my door I inspected the system and found that it has no place for the O2 sensor. Thinking that the system had been advertised for the wrong bike I did some research and found that it was indeed meant to fit my bike.
