2010 M50 risers????
Published (2009-12-15 18:43:00)
Thanks much I keep drawing a blank on the parts website. I'm sending this rider a set to test for me. I think the risers are the same as the M90 2009 model and we know that works well. Thanks again, Ken

Hard Krome Sideburners
Published (2009-12-17 23:38:00)
Heya I just received my new set of hk siderburners a few days ago and got around to installing it. Here's the problem, the muffler and the header pipe doesn't fit. The muffler is supposed to wrap around the header pipe to cover up the clamp but it doesn't. I've searched on the forums and have seen other ppl with this issue but I would like to know if anyone here has a set of hk sideburners that fit perfectly.

I suggest he try it first as-is because.......once you grind off those nubs, there's no going back. Had a problem...

Strapped the GPS to the bee to see how whacked the speedo is. Typical MC, about 9% high. Indicated 80 = 72.8 for real <sigh>.

I'm def looking. I'm gonna keep the M but there are several out there that I'm taking a liking to. The Raider, Harley street bob, and the new fat boy low to name a few.
I also want to go sit on a 2010 Victory 8ball as I read somewhere they moved the foot controls further back. I'm a short guy and they've always been too long for me.
I can't imagine ever not looking for a new bike.

...........well it kind of sounds like you've already done it. You've got 3 options.
1 Baffles in with wrap
2 Baffles in with no wrap
3 Baffles completely removed
I tried it all three ways to check the sound. I personally thought it was a bit too loud with the baffles completely removed. I left mine with the V&H baffles left in with no wrap.
Are you asking about ...

hanglebar risers for M50 available again
Hello to all M riders.
Jeff and I are discussing that I could take over making the riser blocks he made.
I need to see a hand count of who would be willing to place an order for risers for the M. If I get enough I will do the project.
Please email me at ken@shape-master.com and put RISERS in the Subject line.

Those bars are 8.3 inches wider than OEM. If there is a lot less pull back and you cut off enough of the bar ends you might squeak by. And that would be assuming you can route the cables etc behind the triple tree. Why are you considering these bars ?? More leverage, further reach for long arms, just looks or ??
Or just get longer cables and have at her.

I just installed a set of Road Burner Double Eagles Blawk Hawk exhaust (JC Motors for $325 vs. $800 suggested retail). The instructions were absolute crap , so I thought I'd post my experiences so that it might help someone else avoid a 5 hour install vs. 1.5 hours (without a lot of headaches to boot).
This will be an instruction with multiple posts in order to provide an explanation with ...

I saw the new Honda today as well. I did not take it for a ride but I sat on it. The bike felt good but I did not like the integrated saddle bags. They looked small. I agree that the bike is WAY over priced. It is not worth the $9000+ dollars they are asking for it. For now I am going to stick with my M50.

Ask 10 different people about oil and you'll get ten different answers. Run what's called for until you've done some reading here. There are plenty of oil threads.
Have fun on the M.

I ground down the nubs with a dremel. I thought about drilling new holes, but was worried about getting them lined up correctly. I have not had any issues with the housings rotating on the bars.

Custom Speedo
I just installed this custom speedo onto my bike last night. What do you guys think? Joe from webslinger has a variety of custom speedos. You can also make you own design and submit to this to him. These speedos can be for a variety of different bikes. With all our custom mods, I thought this would be fitting for my bike. Here is the link if anyone is ...

The least expensive performance upgrade is to get more comfortable on the bike and refine your riding skills. A motorcycle safety course or a professional training program goes a long way to improving your skills and making your time on the bike a bit safer.
As far as bolt on stuff; from what I've learned from the folks around here:
1) A fuel controller (PowerCommander, Cobra, TFI, Bully...
