OK. So last year I knocked out the Saddle Sore 1k miles /24 hrs. Up next is the 1,500 miles / 36 hours. Just ordered a new pair of Avon Storms. Not real sure when this is gonna happen - Oct or early Nov. So the question is: Go West? Vicinity of Case Grande, AZ Go East? Vicinity Meridian, MS

I'd like to purchase a bike that I can comfortably travel long distances on. (I'm currently looking at sport touring bikes). However, there seem to be quite a few posts in this forum about people riding 500+ miles in a day on non-touring bikes. Isn't this uncomfortable??? Or is a touring bike just unnecessary?

First let me say i think these are both great bikes. I rode both of these on demo rides last week the rides lasted about 30min and there was a combination of city and highway with some nice curves in both. Here are some of my thoughts about them. Both bikes handle very well however i think the FJR might be slightly better than the c14 in this dept. Both bikes are pretty tall ...

Yes, I eat while riding, but just a candy bar or a Slim Jim. I have a bottle holder that holds a 20 oz bottle just fine.

Guys and Gals I have a bit of a dilemma, I would like to ride from the east coast out to Oregon to visit my sister, stopping to visit friends and long lost relatives along the way. My problem is my bike is not exactly a touring bike; it’s a 04 Z1000 naked street bike. I’m bumping up against 50 and have arthritis in my left hip from an old injury, I’m good for two hours in the saddle before the ...

So, i know there's already a thread about eating on the bike, but what about eating off the bike? i've usually carried a little soft cooler with about two or three days worth of food, and since i'm planing on doing some long term travel, i'm curious to see what others do to compliment the mom 'n' pop's and greassy spoons.

I want to get a sport touring bike!! I'm looking at the 07 Triumph Sprint ST abs model. Im 6'2", 200 lbs so It has to be a bigger bike. I want to be able to take long trips comfortably, but still take good twisties. Dont need to worry too much about 2 up because my wife doesnt really care to ride. And budget wise I need to stay around $10,000. Help me out. Thanks...

I'm in the market for a bike to take approximately 1900 miles frome the the coast of south carolina to colorado. I found a really nice honda shadow aero 750 and I was wondering if that would be suitable for this distance.
