And stories like these, is why I wouldn't ride to work at 4 am. I've hit 8 deer with the car going to work, all less than 4 miles from the house. 14 years of weldin took a toll on the peepers. So many other stories like these don't turn out as well. Count your blessins.

I've been given breaks over the years. Cops are people too. Usually if you are cordial to them they are cordial to you. They ultimately have better things, you'd think, to do then harass usually law abiding citizens. But if you give one shiet can't blame him/her for shoving it back up your arse. I would. They're not paid to hear you run your yap disrespectfully. Nor does the uniform equate "please give me...

Given your current feelings and situation, you should probably heal both physically and mentally, and get on with living. As I mentioned, I gave it up for close to a decade while I pursued my career and raised a family. There is no need to make any decision either way, and if you choose never to ride again, I hope you will continue to come here, read, post and participate, and share your passion. The point is, whether you ride or not,...

Much like your question about why are most of the 1%er mc's racist, they also only drive HDs due to being " American Made". Sports bikes are typically all from overseas and not looked at like a "manly man's" bike.

wow, that is tough. is he someone who you could teach some stuff, or something like that, or will he not listen to anyone, and take offense to you thinking he needed help?

The rider makes more of a difference than the bike until you get two riders of equal skill. I've talked to people watching factory tuned GSX-R 750s getting beat by very aggressive riders on stock Daytona 675s for laps at a time
But that's pretty cool he can still ride with only one leg.

Ah yeah the gear! With the extra load you'd need to pay attention in that. I haven't done this for a long time so there are things I forgot, but should just be like riding a bicycle . At stop ... hmmm I don't recall any problems I had, must have been because you're not used to stopping with the bike straight?
But hey - was it a nice backrest?
